In case you’ve been living in a cave the last week or so, the weather is starting to turn. Autumn by far is my favourite season. I love being curled up in doors under my blanket and drinking hot drinks when you get in from the cool. I love walking in the crisp fallen leaves and I love the fresh sunny days that follow the cool frosty mornings. But best of all, I love autumn fashion.
I don’t actually own trousers. I do own leggings that I mainly wear around the house with a tunic (leggings are the best thing to wear when you’re rolling around the floor with your baby, tights and a dress are just completely indecent!) but I haven’t got any other kind of trouser as I just don’t find them comfortable. But I’m also not a bare legs girl  (I think my legs look like a plucked chicken they’re so white) so when it’s hot in the summer I still feel the need to wear tights, which sucks and looks dreadful. So when autumn comes along and I can wear my thick woolen tights and ankle boots with my dresses and skirts, I’m in my element! I’m also a die hard cardigan fan, the thicker and chunkier the better, I think I’m up to about twelve in an assortment of colours.
It’s not just the fashion I love, it’s the colours and patterns. All the animal motifs seem to make an appearance in the autumn (much like the nautical stripes appear in the shops shortly after Christmas) which pleases me as I’m a huge animal lover. I do despise animal print though, it just reminds me of fur and I do not advocate that. The colours that suit me best are autumn colours. I’m so pale that the brights and pastels that come with spring and summer usually make me look washed out. I love navy blues, bottle greens, plums, burgundies as you can tell from everything on my wish list.
Mentioning my wish list, everything on it is for every day wear. Since becoming a mother I feel my multiple nights out a week are over so I don’t need a huge collection of little black dresses. In fact, I already have a couple of dresses hanging in my wardrobe for nights out that I haven’t gotten around to wearing yet since my last night out was May 2011 (I kid you not). I really need a new winter coat and I have fallen in love with the H&M one that comes in the grey and black. It has my two musts, a nipped in waist and a collar. I have been desperate to get my hands on a skirt like the Denim Topshop Skater Skirt, over the summer all skirts I’ve tried have been right up my arse, but this one seems a perfect length. I have my fingers crossed it’ll still be in stores in October when I venture to the city.
I’m on the hunt for the perfect ankle boots now as my last year ones have huge holes in the heel. I seem to have searched everywhere but I’ve had no luck! Fingers crossed I can find my dream boots before the autumn weather really sets in!
RIP my old winter boats 🙁
