#24 ‘Tis the Season to be Fabulous!

I’ve been really slack blogging and keeping up with blogs lately due to being absolutely exhausted. My daughter is teething at the moment which means very disturbed nights (opposed to my usual couple of minutes popping a bottle in her mouth) and i’ve had some late nights at work as well as my work Christmas meal on Sunday. I don’t know how I survived before I became a mother and I used to work until 11pm, go out drinking until 3/4am then be back at work for 7am. I’d function perfectly fine on so little sleep back then, now if I have a disturbed night I have a headache all day and I’m so cranky! Last night I was going to blog but I went to bed at 9:30! I snuggled up under my duvet and watched some episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch on my phone. I’m clearly far too cool these days..

Finally I’ve found the energy to blog and hopefully later I’ll have time to catch up on my blog reading list. It might chill me out as my ex has put me in a foul mood, I guess that’s his job these days.. Sigh.

Onto something better, Christmas outfits! Sadly, these aren’t photos of the outfits being worn (how HARD is it to take outfit photos in this miserable weather? I can never get enough light to show what I’m actually wearing!) I’ve included what I wore to my work meal on Sunday and what I plan on wearing on Christmas day and this year it’s all about the velvet!

Black Velvet Skater Dress £12.99 @ New Look // Red Cable Knit Tights £1.99 @ H&M // Red Glitter Hair Bow £6 @ Crown & Glory // Red Herring Black Bow Waist Belt £9.60 @ Debenhams
So this is my outfit for Christmas day! I’ve chosen a black skater dress that’ll hide any post-turkey food baby on those all important Christmas photos, plus it’s got a lot of give so I can eat, drink and be merry without feeling too uncomfortable! I’ve teamed it with some red accessories, red tights & a festive red glitter bow from Crown & Glory! Cannot wait for this to arrive in the post! I’ve also got a bow waist belt to wear before we have dinner (that’ll be off by the time I’m on the sofa watching a Disney movie in the afternoon!)
Black 3/4 Length Sleeve Top £7.99 @ H&M // House of Holland Spike Tights £12 @ Urban Outfitters // Burgundy Velvet Skirt £28 @ Topshop // Quilted Bag with Chain Strap from Topshop (Ancient) // Black Glitter Back Boots £12.49 @ New Look
My work Christmas meal was on Sunday evening (I work in a hotel so it’s the quietest night of the week). I’m the baby of the group at twenty four and we live in a town that isn’t exactly renowned for it’s night life especially on a Sunday so our dress code was sadly casual. Of course I wasn’t going to be too casual with it being my only night out over Christmas. I decided again to go with velvet, this time my lovely oxblood skirt from Topshop along with a basic 3/4 length sleeve top from H&M. To make my outfit a little more special I went with my fav pair of House of Holland tights and these gorgeous glittery boots I got at a bargain price of £12.49 from New Look (thank you Claire over at French for Cupcake for blogging about them!) I took along my favourite ever Topshop bag as it fits everything I need for a night out. I think it was originally £18!
What are you planning to wear over Christmas?
