Soap & Glory Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser £10 @ Boots

I’ve been desperate to try a hot cloth cleanser for a while now but I could only really find really cheap ones that from the ingredients list I knew would destroy my skin, or really expensive ones I knew I could never afford on a regular basis therefore I didn’t want to get used to it then not be able to buy it! Anyway my besties are huge Soap & Glory fans and while we lived together I was never really into it but after been worn down, I decided to give the brand a go. At Christmas I bought three items when they were on 3 for 2 in Boots, I got Smoothie Star, Sugar Crush Scrub & this, the hot cloth cleanser. I figured since it had lavender in it, it shouldn’t be too harsh on my skin. Thankfully I was right!

To start with, the packaging on all Soap & Glory products look amazing, this being no different. It comes with a free muslin cloth and a 100ml tube which so far is lasting me well making it good value for money (compared to dearer brands such as the Liz Earle) at £10 a pop.
It smells very strongly of lavender which is why I use it while I’m taking a bath as lavender is supposed to be relaxing. I’m not usually a huge fan of lavender but since you are literally using this for two minutes I could deal with it. When I say you’re only using this for two minutes, you are as the instructions are as follows;
“Squeeze out a generous splodge, divide it between the pads of your fingers, and then massage onto your face and neck for at least sixty seconds. (Concentrate most on your nose, chin, or other clog-prone spots.) Leave on for another minute (if you’re too ‘type A’ to wait, fill the time by flossing) then press it all off with a warm, wet muslin cloth.”
Since I use this while in the bath, I squeeze it out, put it on my face then shave my legs before removing it with my muslin cloth.
The tag line is “It cleans, it smooths, it melts away makeup” I can confirm that it does exactly what it says on the tin (or tube). I can use it to remove my make up while I’m taking a bath without the use of wipes. I have been using it for 3 weeks now and it has not irritated my sensitive and dry skin which is great news. As of yet I haven’t had any break outs (but this could be to do with my hormones more than anything.)
I am so impressed with this product and I would recommend it to anyone who didn’t want to buy a cheap hot cloth cleanser but weren’t wanting to go all out for a high end brand.
I know some people are concerned about using the cloth, but I’ve learned a trick from the last eleven months of sterilizing bottles, just stick it in a bowl of boiling water after every use to clean it without putting it through the wash with detergent. Works wonders!
