#78 Fashion Inspiration – Style Crush

So I had planned on doing my review of Benefit’s Fakeup tonight, however on checking my camera I realised I hadn’t taken photos of the product (I’d taken them of Fine One One but I haven’t tested it long enough to warrant a review!) and now it’s the evening and too dark to photograph! Since I was in the blogging mood I thought I’d share with you some more fashion inspiration, this time in the form of celebrities.
As i’ve mentioned before I don’t really follow any trends. I usually take inspiration from all over the place and mash it together to make my own style. Tumblr has become a huge source of inspiration & you can check out my last Fashion Inspiration blog post here. Although this is mainly a fashion inspiration post, most of these are also a girl crushes. Sorry, not sorry.

The ultimate style icon, in my opinion, is Zooey Deschanel. I love her fashion sense, so cute and feminine. She’s a fan of all things i’m a fan of, floral patterns, wee twee blouses, pops of colour, lace dresses, berets. She has be my main style icon for many many many years.. since perhaps when I first saw Almost Famous at 17. She was probably the main reason I started dressing the way I dress. I’ve even had the full fringe before but sadly it didn’t suit. To me she is one of the most beautiful women ever.

My other favourite actress style wise is Emma Stone. She is another one who looks amazing in anything, especially anything quirky. She mainly wears jeans which isn’t something I wear ever but her tops, coats, shoes and bags I find myself always lusting over. I have had the second image saved for ages as I’ve been after a skirt like that. Still no luck though, boo! She looks casual cool & classy but still has an individual style. I much prefer her as a red head though!

Obviously there was going to be someone from Once Upon a Time in here, and although Belle (Emilie De Ravin) is my favourite character, I think Mary Margaret Blanchard has the best wardrobe. And not just her, Ginnifer Goodwin has such awesome style as seen in the first image set. I wish I wish I wish I could pull off the pixie hair cut like she (and Anne Hathaway) can. I love all Ginnifer Goodwin’s outfits (and sunglasses) in the first image set.. and well I’m a life long fan of berets, mittens and coats with collars which Mary Margaret wears.. along with her collection of blouses, floral dresses and cardigans.

As beautiful as I find Leighton Meester, she isn’t one of my fashion inspirations.. it’s Blair Waldorf. Since the first episode of Gossip Girl I have lusted so much over Blair’s whole wardrobe, especially that first dress. I have had that image saved forever as that is my dream dress. So much of my wardobe is inspired by Blair, pearls, beautiful underwear, headbands.. yes I have them all!

If i’m looking for a more edgy look or inspiration, my first google search is Karen Gillan. I’m not a huge Doctor Who fan but when she was on the show as Amy Pond (woo for Amys) she started popping up in magazines and I fell in love with her style. For starters she is another beautiful red head but she also has the most edgy and unique style. She is the reason I invested in a leather skirt (okay I team it with a very Zooey Deschanel collared top and jumper) she is the reason I bought victorian looking winter boots that I wear with floral dresses. I’m glad that I can include some true British inspiration into my list.
I could go on all night but these five make up the bulk of my celebrity style inspiration without it turning into a pure girl crush post, which would then include Rachel McAdams, Emilie De Ravin, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence & Mila Kunis. I wrote one a few years back on my old blog Hightops & Heels if you ARE interested in a girl crush post and I really don’t find Katy Perry that attractive anymore! Please don’t judge!
Who are your style inspirations? And do you have any girl crushes?
