Bobbi Brown Shimmer Blush in Coral Review

Until I started my blog I used to only have one of everything apart from lip colour & eye shadow… and even then I only had a few of each for example in lip colour I had one I wore during the day & another for going out. Blogging has opened up a whole new world of using making up in different ways to me so I’ve began to embellish on the contents of my make up bag. My new favourite item to buy is blush and cheek colour.. I now I four different kinds/colours including Benefit Fine One One (which I will be reviewing soon), a Dainty Doll bargain from Fragrance Direct (again I’ll be reviewing), my old faithful MAC’s Well Dressed powder blush that I’ve used for years and this, Bobbi Brown shimmer blush in Coral.

I came across this while I was looking for a blusher similar to MAC’s LE Hipness, which is my favourite ever blush. This caught my eye as it’s a similar colour and I like the fact instead of being matte, it has a shimmer in it. At the time I thought it would be nice should we ever get a Spring/Summer. It’s a lovely pink coral and I usually wear it with my MAC Ravishing lipstick, the two really look good together.

This is my first ever Bobbi Brown purchase. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the brand lately mainly from Sophia of Tattooed Tea Lady (she writes the best reviews) so I figured i’d give it a whirl. The packaging is so sleek and professional looking, not unlike that of MAC. It is easy to apply and to blend since it’s a nice silky texture. I apply it to the apple of my cheeks to give my natural deathly colour a bit of a rosy glow. It retails for £18 which does seem a bit steep however I got mine when Debenhams had their 10% off beauty, that they seem to run almost monthly these days! Despite the price I think it’s a great blush and a really nice colour. I’m excited to try out some more Bobbi Brown products in the near future.

I also want to mention my hair today, for once the waves aren’t made by braids! Strangely this is is the results of my hair straighteners. Although I could never master curling with my GHDs, following a really simple tutorial by Alice of Tea & Lead I was able to wave it, and I can finally do some pretty cute beach waves. It’s all fallen out now as I didn’t bother with product but at least I know it works. I really suggest you check out Alice’s other tutorials for hair, she really is the queen and I know I’ll be giving the victory rolls one ago when I get a moment!
