#98 Boots Gift Card Haul

I wanted to do a Dainty Doll review, however due to insomnia I only managed about two and half hours sleep last night so today I look like death warmed up despite slathering myself in moisturiser followed by make up. I look seriously haggered, lucky me, so no review. Instead I’m going to give you a haul post, my first haul post in fact!
For Easter I was given a £25 Boots gift card by my grandfather. My sister & I get one every year. Despite my good intentions, I’m getting bored of my spending ban now so after I’d dropped Little Miss off at nursery I took the peasant wagon into town. I had a look around the charity shop but their were no bargains to be found before I headed into Boots, ready to spend! I got a nice little haul of beauty products to keep me going until my spree next week (I have saved hard for that, I’m so excited to blow a load of money in one day, it NEVER happens anymore!) Anyway today I only went over £3.49 since I bought one of the hair dyes on my Advantage card. Totally worth it for this wee haul!
Casting Creme Gloss £6.49 // Wild Ombres £6.00
I originally went straight to the Soap & Glory section. I still have a wishlist of products as long as my arm by S&G but I knew what I needed the most was hair dye. My telltale blonde roots are coming through again and as I have a few big weekends coming up I want to look my best, although I can guarantee I will have a break out, it’s like my body KNOWS I want to look my best for meeting new people. My life story really. I bought my all time favourite brown hair dye, L’Oreal’s Casting Creme Gloss in Iced Chocolate. It’s the shade i’ve always used and with the red undertones in my natural hair colour it means I have a lovely auburn shine in certain lights. Plus the conditioner smells like jelly beans. I’m also currently going through a two tone phase so I repurchased the Wild Ombres Dip Dye Kit. I was impressed with the results when I used it back in February which you can read about here
Frizzi Miracle Worker with Argan Oil £6.99 // Split Mend Recover Masque £5.69 // Studio Hot Curl £3.56
Since I plan on massacring my hair two weeks in a row, I felt giving it some TLC before and after is in order. I try to use a hair mask a couple of times a week (usually the same day I use my face mask) and I’d just finished off my Herbal Essences one which of course was all the encouragement I needed to purchase I new one. After reading some labels and comparing some prices I settled on TREsemme Split End Remedy Mend Intense Recovery Masque. It was exactly what I was after and had a lovely smell to it.. when it comes to hair care smell is important to me. Cannot wait to use it tonight. Going with the theme of wanting to offer my hair some TLC, I’d seen a review of Umberto Giannini’s Frizzi Miracle Worker with Argan Oil on Hayley’s blog Strangeness & Charm and she seemed impressed with how it had helped her dry ends, since it was 3 for 2 on haircare I thought i’d give it a go. I already have two other products from the Frizzi range, three day straight & the serum, both I really quite like. For my free product I chose L’Oreal Studio Hot Curl Spray. I wanted something to protect my hair from the heat of my Enrapture Totem Styler & keep my curls in place. I’ve had this in the past & it does the job.
Gelly Polish in Papya £3.99 // Black Polish £2.99 // Lip Butter Lipstick £7.99
Of course a Boots haul wouldn’t be complete without make up. I knew right off I was going to get one of the Revlon Lip Butters. I’ve heard such good things about them and I really needed an every day subtle colour. I went for Strawberry Shortcake. There were photos of Emma Stone all over the display and I had to stop myself from spending so much, her pretty face wanted me to buy more but I pulled myself away! My friend Kariss has since told me it looks like a vibrator, I don’t know where she buys her square vibrators from.. ANYWAY, I caved and bought another Barry M Gelly Polish. I already have Blueberry which I love and this time I bought Papaya. I also bought a Barry M black polish to use under my matte top coat. This looked beautiful when Alice of Tea & Lead did it and posted on Instagram.
So that’s what I’ve been buying! Has anyone tried any of the products I’ve bought? What did you think?
