#169 Get Your Summer Face On.

Hello! I’m still alive! Just extremely busy with the upcoming move and revision for my accountancy, book keeping and admin exams. And of course, I’m sleeping on the sofa which renders me dead by about 8pm. Blogging has been at the back of my mind when it comes to things to do at the moment. However, I’ve found a spare moment this afternoon while Little Miss is napping (although I should probably be making the banofee pie for dinner or at least washing up..) It’s a good excuse to come indoors though, I don’t cope well in heat and I’ve had a heat rash twice this week already!
I get the keys on Monday to my new house so next week will be spent cleaning, building the smaller stuff up and decorating but I have some posts scheduled over the next few weeks, a few of which are by some wonderful guest bloggers! I really hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have. Anyway, onto today’s post (because I should really wash up before my parents get in at 3pm..)
Today is a blog post about my favourite summer make up. In the summer I like to wear a little as possible on my face to give my skin the chance to enjoy the little sun we get. Most days, I can get away with simply some sun cream (factor 50 baby!) & some Body Shop Vitamin Skin Reviver to give my skin some life. However if i’m going out to say one of my classes, the supermarket or to a meeting I do put a bit more effort to disguise the fact I’m perpetually tired, and this is the face I thought I’d share with my readers.
Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiser for Dry Skin
Kiehls Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream in Natural*
Benefit Fake Up in 01 Light*
MAC Blush in Well Dressed
Apivita Lip Balm*
Benefit They’re Real Mascara
Dainty Doll Eyeliner in Goody Two Shoes
Sigma Eyeshadow Pallet*
MAC Select Sheer Powder in NW15
Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume

That seems like a lot of products written out in a list, but that’s half of what I would wear on a daily basis in all the other seasons! After cleansing and toning, I mix my moisturiser with a dab of Kiehls BB Cream, which I have reviewed here (as the shade I received was far too dark for my skin) and apply to my face, it works like a tinted moisturiser and the BB cream itself has SPF 50 in it which is great for these sunny days we’re having. I then apply Benefit’s Fake Up, you can read my review here, to my lovely dark circles under my eyes (even 18 months on, these NEVER go away!) and if I have any red bits I use it to cover those too. It blends really nicely over the BB cream. I then use my MAC powder all over my face because I can never get the dewy look right, instead I look sweaty, so instead I just go for the matte look. Follow this with my favourite ever blush Well Dressed by MAC to give my cheeks a rosy glow. Next my eyes, this Sigma eyeshadow pallet has been a savior! First I apply Publicize which is a nude to my lid, right up to my brow, it makes a perfect matte base. Then over the top on my lid only, I sweep Command, a really lovely light gold. Finally I use a Dainty Doll Eyeliner on my waterline and finish off with my all time favourite, Benefit They’re Real mascara (I have a review full of praise for it, here). All in all, really natural looking make up. On my lips in the summer I mainly wear tinted or shimmery lipbalms, however today as I’m off out tomorrow night and I want crack free lips, I’m using my Apvita lipbalm that was in my Nottingham BB meet goody bag. This stuff has become a staple! I reviewed it a few weeks back, here. I also thought i’d include my staple perfume, that I love so much I have it in roller ball form for my hand bag, Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Such a great summer scent.
And here is how I look.
A face post wouldn’t be complete without me being a complete fool…
That’s it for today. I’m off to view my new house. Have a nice weekend everyone x
