Christmas Gift Guide – Ideas for Female Friends *

Happy Saturday guys! I hope you have more exciting plans than I do today! With my Christmas shopping being almost complete I’m flat broke as every spare penny I have I use it towards something else off my list. This week has been a complete head stress with it all and I’ll be glad when it’s over and I can concentrate on the wrapping side of things. I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to wrapping and I like everything to be coordinated. I’m not sure why as you won’t be able to see under my tree due to having chairs in front of it (to keep my sparkly things obsessed child away from it!) I have all my matching paper, tags and bows ready to go! Just need to get the last few things.
Today i’m bringing you my second gift guide, this time for female friends. You can read my first one, ideas for a two year old, here. I’m lucky that all my female friends are really easy to buy for, but my sister always struggles which is more what inspired this gift guide. I have bought for 10 friends and I’ve had two secret santas of various budgets on top of that. Being on my own with a kid to buy for means I’ve set various budgets and tried to stick to them. I’ve divided this gift guide into two parts, high end and budget. Budget would be great if you’re making a package up for your bestie or you have a low budget secret santa.. or even as stocking fillers for other ladies in your life. Hopefully this way everyone can find some inspiration!
Starting with £40 +
Laura Mercier Souflee Body Creme Sampler, Space NK // Joules Ipad Folio Cover, Boots // Shourouk Blue Hawla Bracelet, Benna // Penguin Flannel PJs, Cath Kidston // Fuijifilm Instax Mini, Amazon // Luxurious Creme de Corps Collection, Kiehls
Some people spend all year saving for Christmas so they can blow the budget when it comes to loved ones. And for some people, their best friends are their nearest and dearest. The above choices are for when your budget exceeds £40, when you’re really out to spoil your friend (or these gifts would even do for a mum or sister!)
When it comes to Christmas, I like to give (and receive, I’m not going to lie) gifts that look good.. it’s probably why I spend so long on presentation. It’s also why I love the Laura Mercier Gift set from Space NK. I’ve always wanted to try some of the Laura Mercier body souflees but for body cream, they’re just out of my price range. This pack of four mini’s would make such a beautifully indulgent gift for a friend who really needed to take time out to pamper. I love the style of the Joules christmas gifts you can buy from Boots as part of their 3 for 2s. This ipad cover is no exception! The dark navy floral pattern looks beautiful and hard waring, which is great if you know your friends iPad bounces around her hand bag on a daily basis. How stunning is this bracelet? I love the fact that even though the diamonds give it that really bling look, the cord of the bracelet gives it a more understated twist. Benna has some beautiful Shourouk gifts if you’re really looking to blow the budget! I remember one year I bought two of my best friends PJs from La Senza, and looking back now I think it was one of the best gifts I ever bought them! Three years on, being that little older and wiser I think I’d go in for something from Cath Kidston’s night time wear range as the stuff is gorgeous and being Cath Kidston, you know you’re buying quality. A couple of weeks back when I put together my own Christmas wishlist I included a Fujifilm Instax camera, but while I was putting together this gift guide I figured it’s actually a brilliant gift for anyone! Finally, I’ve raved so much about Kiehls this year as they’re probably one of my favourite beauty finds of 2013, it would be wrong no to include one of their Christmas gifts. I’ve chosen the Creme de Corps set as Creme de Corps is one of my favourite smelling products ever, I think it’s a perfect gift alone to give to a friend. They even currently have a Christmas edition out at the moment!
Less than £40
Leather Bound Classics, Amazon // OPI Christmas Mini Nail Set, ASOS // Tatty Devine Bonjour Necklace, Urban Outfitters // Porcelain Teacup Candle Holder, Gifts and Pieces // Wooden Jewellery Box, Gifts and Pieces // Warm Vanilla Spice Classic Christmas Candle, Flamingo Candles // Chocomania Set, The Body Shop
Of course, Christmas isn’t all about splashing the cash and you can get just as wonderful gifts at the lower end of the scale. These are a few of my favourites that I would of happily bought any of my friends (but I haven’t since the majority of them read my blog! Hi guyssss!)
One of my friends, Donna, bought me a leather bound Grimms Fairytales book for my birthday. It’s so beautiful and ever then I’ve had a ton of these on my amazon wishlist. I think the Jane Austin one is particularly beautiful but the one I’m really coveting is the Hans Christian Anderson fairytales for obvious reasons (which is why I’ve shared that one today). They would make a beautiful gift for anyone! I think the colours OPI have brought out in their Christmas ranges are flawless this year, this pack of mini’s would be a great gift for any of your gals who are into their nails. I saw this Tatty Devine Bonjour necklace in Galleries Lafayette while in Paris and I thought it was a wonderful take on the famous name necklaces. That’s when I realised you could have anything (within reason) made into one of these necklaces! I have one with “Amy Marie” I bought in my first year of uni.. and it’s still going strong SEVEN years later! What an investment. Gifts and Pieces is only a recent find but it’s fast becoming my go to when looking for unique gifts. I definitely will be placing an order over the next few weeks and I’m considering getting a secret santa gift from there. I’ve heard a LOT of goof things about Flamingo Candles, I haven’t smelt one myself but seemingly the scents they come in are amazing as well as being great candles themselves. They also sell melts and gift vouchers. Finally, when it comes to indulgent bathing without breaking the bank, I love The Body Shop. They do such fantastic value for money gifts like the Gingerbread Sparkle Tin I treated myself to last year.
Anyhoo, I’m off to watch the Doctor Who special! Hope some of you find my gift guide helpful! Look out for another one later on in the week.
