As you all know, I don’t work for a big company so I won’t be having a staff night out. However I am going out with my girls for a final fling in our university town, dinner, cocktails and dancing. As it will probably be my only night out this Christmas, I want a pretty dress to wear and I’ve been scouring the internet for something that would be worthy of my one night on the town this festive season. Today I thought I’d share a few of my favourites before I make a start on the housework! Wednesday’s are always busy days, housework, taking Little Miss to nursery, grocery shop and my accountancy class. I feel exhausted thinking about it!
So here are six of the best in my opinion, featuring some great labels such as TFNC London, Hearts & Bows and Mary Jane Fashion which I’ve just discovered and is great for cheap sequin bodycon dresses! As well as some high street stores.
|Sarah Scalloped Skater Dress £45, TFNC // Hearts & Bows Green Velvet Skater Dress £24.99, Ark // Opal Sequin Skater Dress £58, Motel
Black Lace Dress £24.99, H&M // Plaid Pattern Shift Dress £16.99, Mary Jane Fashion // Embellished Prom Dress £75, Topshop
From this little wish list we can establish two things, one I like skater dresses and two I like a bit of glitter. True story, to both. In fact, shift or skater are the two styles of dresses that do suit me which is why all six of these dresses are one of two styles.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but if there was any decade I could of been born in, it would of be the 20s. Specifically in New York or Paris. The first dress from TFNC London screams 20s to me with it’s scalloped design and chiffon skirt! I also adore the 3/4 sleeves as I’m not a huge fan of my arms. I love a velvet dress for the festive season, especially in bottle green. This gorgeous one from Ark is such a great style as well as truly Christmassy, Ark currently has 20% off everything until Sunday! The third dress has been catching my eye every time I visit the Motel Rocks website for weeks now. I just love the colour and the cut looks very flattering. I was tempted to get the black lace dress from H&M yesterday when I was at the metro centre but they didn’t have my size. You really can’t go past the LBD as party wear and I really need a new one. It also comes in blue and cream. I only just discovered Mary Jane Fashion this week and I’m loving it! It does some great cheap skater dresses for women but I’ve gone for this shift dress because I adore the pattern! It’s tartan without being too tartan! Finally, the Topshop dress is purely one of fantasy because I don’t think I could ever justify that much on a dress for one night out, but there is no denying it’s beauty!
What is your go to style for a big night out?
