Christmas Gift Guide – Ideas for Men (Dads, Brothers, Other Halfs etc) *

It’s December! Can you believe it?! The festive month is upon us and my feeds were filled with photos and status and tweets from people putting their trees up! It really is time to start getting Christmassy now. My Christmas shopping is nearly complete and wrapped. I’ve been wrapping as i’ve been buying for easiness. I also have half the stuff I wanted for Little Miss’ birthday too and I’ll get the rest in the sales.

Anyway tonight I’ve put together a gift guide for the men in your life. The only men in my life I’m buying for are my dad and he has requested blu rays, and my sisters boyfriend. But I couldn’t do a collection of gift guides without doing a male orientated one. If I’m going to be honest, I hate buying for men. I always find it so difficult and I either buy too much or something really random, which is probably the case for my sisters boyfriend. I’ve included one of the gifts I bought for him. See if you can spot it.

I bought a burger press for fathers day and my dad really enjoyed making his own burgers for family barbeques this summer. It was so easy to use (I borrowed it for my house warming barbeque back in July) and it meant we could have all sorts of awesome flavoured burgers for the price of a pack of mince and an onion. You can get them for dirt cheap on Amazon, I chose this one because the colours make it more funky looking. The wax disks to separate the burgers are dirt cheap to buy once you use the ones that come in the box. If you use Boots 3 for 2 to do the bulk of your Christmas shopping you might consider getting a guy one of the “smellies” packs (no idea what other people call them, but smellies is our families names for bath and body products), my favourite is this Ted Baker Roam for Improvement Washbag, as the bag always comes in handy once you’ve used up all the products. If you have a guy who’s into their superheroes, hats of if you do, I found these awesome canvases on Truffle Shuffle, they’re £29.99 each and not only do they do Thor and Spider-Man, they also have Iron Man, Captain America and The Hulk! I think they make an awesome gift as the style of each print is art deco which has a more grown up edge than the standard comic book print.. not that I personally mind that.. I definitely prefer to buy books over CDs and DVDs. In the past I’ve always inscribed a boyfriends book and it makes it more personally. I really love the collection of books that are on Urban Outfitters, but I think the 1001 series make a great gift, like this 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. I also love the Listography books that are available. My dad is a massive Star Wars geek, we were brought up knowing the whole history of the world of Star Wars before knowing the history of our own country! So I’m really tempted to buy my dad this feel the force self stir mug from I Want One Of Those as he loves anything novelty and Star Wars related… one year I bought his a Darth Tater and Spud Trooper to put in his truck haha. I recently stumbled upon The Literary Gift Company and i’ve bought a few of my Christmas gifts from there. I really wish I had a guy who wore a shirt (my dad doesn’t haha) so I could buy these adorable scrabble cufflinks! Why not put your initials or your childs initials on and give them to your hubby/dad/childs dad? Finally, if you need a stocking filler, what better than a phone case. Most people have a smart phone these days so it would be a gift well used. I really like the Wake Up, Kick Ass, Repeat case from ASOS, it’s a bargain at £8.

If you’re looking for something a bit more special, or you want to splash out, what about a Rolex? That’s a gift that would really last a lifetime! Definitely an investment rather than an ordinary gift and i’ve heard they’re worth every penny.
