Welcome to the last in my series of gift guides. As apart from friends, toddlers, a sister, a dad (and sister’s boyfriend) I only have my mum to buy for. So in reality that doesn’t look like I should of bought a lot, right? Well wrong. My bedroom is coming down with gifts despite giving out three and one secret santa already! However, I can happily say I’m done now YAY just waiting on everything to arrive, oh how I hate slow post which is standard for this time of year. It doesn’t help I left my bag on the train yesterday with two bank cards in, a fiver in change, my point and shoot, a Disney for Loungefly Alice purse and my favourite owl mitts in. Gutted doesn’t even cover it. So now I have to wait for the incredibly slow mail to bring me some new cards.
Anyway, this year my mum has been by far the hardest person to buy for. I mean what do you buy the woman who has everything? My dad requested all the big blockbusters on Blu Ray leaving nothing for her to get, she has a ton of “smellies” two wardrobes of clothes, all the gadgets she could possibly need, a cat, a nicely decorated home.. She really does have everything she needs! Eventually after my sister and I put our heads together we came up with some ideas for not just us, but for my dad too so I think we’re now sorted. So tonight I’m sharing some of the ideas we came up with.
|Nuxe Cocooning Must Haves, Space NK // Mum Pandora Charm, John Greed // Kensington Palace Afternoon Tea for Two, Treat Republic
Yankee Candle Home for Holidays 12 Sampler House, Yankee // Samsonite F’light Lightweight Suitcases, Luggage Direct // Bathtub Teabags & Foot Soother Teabags, Whittards of Chelsea
Navy Polka Dot & Rose Scarf, Scarlett Fashion // Krups Dolce Gusto Hot Drinks Machine, Currys // Knitted Bow Slippers, Accessorize
While in Paris I picked up the Nuxe Reve de Miel lipbalm and it’s amazing! I’ll have the review up later in the week. Anyway, I’m sure my mum would adore it especially when it comes in this gift pack from Space NK. It comes with some hand cream, I’ve never known anyone go through hand cream as quick as my mother! As I mentioned in my Gift Guide for Sisters, in our house, Pandora charms are the fall back gift. However my mum has now filled her bracelet and doesn’t want another! If she hadn’t I would of definitely bought her this mother charm. When I asked on twitter for some ideas on what to buy my parents back in October, the main suggestion was some kind of a gift experience! I did consider it but I couldn’t find anything that might be good for both my parents. If I had just been looking for one for my mum she would of loved to have afternoon tea at Kensington Palace.. or in fact any of the other gift experiences on Treat Republic. If your mother is a newbie to the wonders of Yankee Candles (my mother isn’t) but lets say she is, this gorgeous sampler set is such a great gift as it is a nice collection of scents rather than just one. You can also get a Sweet Shop set which I think I’d definitely love as a gift! My parents are always going away now that my sister and I have left home, so whats a better gift that to get her some fancy luggage. I really wish I’d thought of this idea before buying her gift but it’s definitely and idea for her birthday. I love the look of Brics quality luggage, so beautiful and practical. In our house, the adults don’t get stockings from Santa Claus, only the children. But if in your house you all get stockings and your mother is a tea fan, I would totally go for these awesome teabag gifts; bathtub teabags and foot soother teabags! Or if she’s not really the pampering type you could get her a fancy box of drinking tea! With it being winter, why not treat your mum to a pretty scarf? All Scarlett Fashion scarfs come wrapped in tissue paper and make a beautiful gift without breaking the bank. There are loads of designs to choose from. If you mother is more of a gadget girl, why not treat her to a hot drinks maker? The one above is currently half off in Currys and is a steal at £44.99! Or if you mother is more of a baker why not a stand mixer? Finally, slippers are always a great fall back gift especially for Christmas when the weather is cold. Accessorize has a lot of really pretty pairs that really do last a year.
And that’s it! I really hope my Christmas Gift Guides have helped you with your Christmas shopping, or perhaps they’ve inspired you to treat yourself. Until next year!
