Canvas Design Review*

Since getting my own place last July, I’ve been desperately trying to put my own stamp on it. This is the first house I’ve ever had that isn’t shared with flatmates or a guy so everything I choose to have, is my decision. It’s been an exciting journey that is by no means over, I still have carpets i’d like to replace, walls to paint and furniture to buy. But my favourite part is the personal touches. I love picking out photo frames, art for the walls, vases and ornaments, it’s the bits like that that really make the place yours. So when the chance came up to have one of my photographs turned into a canvas, I wasn’t one to turn down the opportunity. The company offering this is Canvas Design.
It didn’t take me too long to select which photo to use. I half wanted to go with one of Little Miss but since she changes all the time I didn’t want to ever feel the need to replace it, which is what I like to do as she gets older. This is why I decided to go with a photograph I took while in Paris last year. It’s actually the one at the top of my Day Two post. I’m yet to paint my staircase so I’m on the look out for stuff to line the walls when I do and I did have the idea to get this particular photo printed and framed, but having it on a canvas seems like a much better idea, but until it arrived I didn’t realise how much like the photo it would look despite being a canvas, to say I was impressed was an understatement!
16 x 12″ Canvas* RRP £16.49
A close up of the detail on the canvas, it doesn’t look far off an enlargement print!
Umm, hi, how awesome does this look? When it arrived I honestly couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked, it really transported me back. From emailing off my photograph to receiving my canvas it took less than a weekend. It would be brilliant if you forgot to buy someone a gift and wanted something fast. Although I didn’t order through the site I have been through it and it does look easy enough to use. On the home page there is a big button that gives you a step by step guide to uploading your photo and selecting which canvas size you would like. You can also add a free effect should you want your canvas to be in black & white for example. Prices range from £7.99 to £60. My canvas, which is a decent size (16×12 inches) came in at £16.49 which really isn’t bad considering what you can pay for a canvas from a store, and this one will of course be personal as you took the photograph yourself. I definitely would love another one, perhaps I could fill my whole staircase with canvases of the places I visit!
I definitely recommend choosing a high quality image, the quality is unreal, as you can see from the photographs of the canvas it doesn’t look far off picture perfect which is something that often puts me off canvases and has me choosing prints instead.
