Easter Crafting for Kids with Hobbycraft

Little Miss insisted we donate the blue one to her cousin. Not because blue is for boys, but because pink is her favourite colour.

As I mentioned in my blog post about activities to keep your children busy over Easter, crafting was one of my suggestions. This was based on the fact I had this Easter activity kit hidden away to do on some rainy afternoon, and that rainy afternoon ended up being today.
Hobbycraft kindly sent me some bits and pieces from their Easter range, these along with some stuff I’d also picked up from supermarkets and the local discount store made for a fun activity. I know from Little Miss’ nursery report that she loves playing with paint, glitter and glue so these were a must. With her apron tied around her waist we set up camp at the kitchen table. I have to admit I’ve never taken the plunge where crafting is concerned at home yet. I don’t cope well with mess and I’ve always joked that anything that involved paint or glue would be undertaken at my mums house. Although it was messy, it ended up being such a good laugh I’m looking forward to doing more crafting with Little Miss, that I’ve even started a box with some toilet roll tubes and an egg box in for more make and do.We decorated five little bunny cards with paint, some stick on eggs and finally some glitter as well as gluing some flowers to the envelope. This activity should of taken 10 minutes top, but with a very stubborn two year old it kept us both busy for well over an hour.
Not only did Hobby Craft send me bits and pieces to make our own Easter cards, but they also sent these adorable Easter Bunny baskets made of felt that I plan on using for an Easter egg hunt at my mums house on Easter Sunday. My nephew has the blue one at home. But for the time being Little Miss has been storing her “Princess” eggs in (the Kinder ones that come with a Disney Princess in, she’s as obsessed as I am and she gets one if she has no accidents as we’re potty training). It’s so adorable that it’ll no doubt hold hair grips and bobbles in on her bedside cabinet after Easter is over.
I’ve never had anything from Hobbycraft before but everything was so brilliant (and cute might I add) I’ll definitely be placing an order for some more bits for Little Miss. I think I might even use crafting as the new potty training reward now that she’s finish collecting all the princesses! Although to be perfectly honest, I’m fairly sure her favourite part was the washing up afterwards…
As if we didn’t make enough mess with glitter, paint and glue, I’m off to bake a cake for my dad’s birthday! Have a nice weekend!
