Spring Favourites

You might remember back in January I shared my favourite products for Winter and in October I share my favourite Autumn products, well today I’m sharing my favourite Spring products. These are a mixture of products I have purchased this Spring or I’m using from my stash because their colours and scents make me think of Spring. For some reason the change of season makes me want to change up the sort of products I use, from the make up I wear to the style of my hair or even the smell of products I use. It’s nice to keep a note of what are my current favourites and I have been back and read both my posts for Winter and Autumn which was enjoyable.
Anyway, here are my favourite products of the moment, for Spring.
Firstly, I am so in love with these cute little satchels that come from Primark at the moment, they’re a complete bargain at £6! I own two, red and this cream one which I have shared in a few outfit posts. You can see the red one in my Birthday Girl OOTD and my cream one in Spring Has NOT Sprung post. They’re the perfect size, they fit my purse, phone, few bits of make up, iPad mini and keys in it, everything I need for popping out. They come in loads of different colours and I feel tempted to get another one. I’m also really into floral hairbands at the moment. I seem to suit the medium or small ones and I have a total of five! This pink peony one from Crown and Glory is my favourite, it’s such beautiful colours. You can see it being worn in my Lucky Denver Mint OOTD.
It’s finally appropriate to wear salt spray EVERY DAY! This makes me so happy as I have naturally wavy hair that always has an air of frizz to it (like how Hermione Granger’s is in the books!) no matter how much I straighten it, it’s never completely straight. I also have a huge face so I don’t really like having my hair tied up as too much off my face makes it look even bigger, or worse, makes me look bald! Anyway, I have been really hitting my Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray hard. It gives me mermaid hair which I’m currently obsessed with! The full size bottle retails for £21.50 which is quite steep but when I have a little more spare cash I will be buying it. I currently own the travel size which you can buy from Boots for £9.50. I love it so much that I can warrant the full size bottle. There are a lot of cheaper alternatives on the market, usually filed under “salt spray”. The other hair product I’m loving is Charles Worthington Salon at Home Texturising Spray. I received this in a set for Christmas having never tried Charles Worthington before and I’m so impressed by the brand I have actually bought some other products in the range! Anyway, the Texturising Spray is perfect for giving me big hair. I’m so glad this is actually a trend because it’s so easy to attain especially when you have a small one and can only manage down or messy knot. This spray works perfectly for both of these looks. It’s on sale in Boots for £6.99, but there is currently an offer on Charles Worthington, 2 for £8, meaning you could get another bottle for £1!
Last year when I attended the Nottingham Blogger Meet I received this tube of Amie New Leaf Skin Exfoliating Polish* I have no idea WHY I hadn’t heard of this brand before since it’s practically my name, but I hadn’t. Since I’d read scrubs were bad for sensitive skin I simply added it to my stash. Anyway, I recently started getting dry skin around blemish problem areas on my face and after trying everything, I decided to give this scrub a go. I was so surprised as to how gentle it was and when I started using this once a week while in the shower, the dry patches disappeared. It also has a really lovely smell. It retails for £4.95 and from looking at the site there are a few more products I’d love to try in the range. Last month I was sent this Beauty Balm from Monu*, who are a natural skincare brand. I’d never heard of them until I saw them looking for bloggers on Twitter and as I’m constantly on the look out for new skincare products to tackle my horrific skin I gave them a shout. This Beauty Balm is designed for all skin types it claims to tighten pores, smooth the skins surface and generate a flawless appearance. You’re supposed to use it on top of your moisturiser but you can also use it as a mask by liberally applying to your face, leave it for 15 minutes then wipe off excess with a pad. This is what I’ve been doing and it’s been great! It’s really given me a brighter complexion which is perfect as I’m hoping to get my skin ready for the summer when I want to pass on the foundation. The only thing I don’t like about it is the smell! It contains sweet orange which isn’t something I’m partial too, luckily once on my face I can’t smell it! It’s available from the Monu website for £29.95 and I’d really recommend it, especially if your skin is particularly dull after the winter!
If you haven’t tried Soap and Glory’s The Breakfast Scrub yet, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?! Who wouldn’t want to smoother themselves in a product that smells like American Pancakes every morning?! I bought this months ago and didn’t use it as I had a huge tub of scrub in the shower, however I finally used it up a few weeks back and cracked open this. Oh my god, it smells so good I worry I might actually eat it if I don’t have breakfast before going in the shower. It is such a brilliant exfoliant and I use it to scrub my thigh and bum cheeks (oooh her) along with a buffer brush. It’s such a great smell for in the morning and I can’t help but feel happy! It’s quite sweet so if you’re a fan of the more fruit fragrances, I can probably excuse you from using this. You can buy all Soap and Glory products from Boots, and this one retails for £8 for 300ml.

Finally, my favourite make up items of the moment. To say I’m obsessed with Revlon Colorburst lip products at the moment is an understatement. I have two at the moment but I want them all and I even bought my best friend Bee the red lacquer balm on for Easter because I just think it’s so wearable. The Colorburst Laquer Balm in Enticing is probably my favourite lip product of the moment, firstly it smells like toothpaste, nice a minty, secondly it applies so nicely and feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick but the colour is intense. It lasts quite a while too. It builds really well and perfectly covers my pretty much always chapped lips! You can see it in action on yesterdays outfit post for #EatSleepBlogRepeat I also have one of the new Matte Balms in Audacious which is a really cute coral colour, perfect for Spring. I don’t get on amazingly with matte colours as I have naturally and gross dry lips and I’m too lazy to constantly exfoliate them. But I have found this matte colour isn’t as drying and looks great with Benefit’s Coralista Lip Gloss over it. I’m wearing it in my Golden Afternoon outfit post.
Corals and Spring just go hand in hand, don’t they? Apart from the notorious pastels (which I LOVE) coral is my other go to colour when Spring wardrobe shopping, usually anyway, but this year it clashes badly with my hair so I’ve resorted to using coral make up, in particular on my cheeks. My favourite has got to be Benefit’s Fine One One which I reviewed last year after buying it with my birthday money and costs £23.50. It’s an all in one contouring tool that blends beautifully with a stippling brush. Because it’s creamy it gives such a nice dewy look. Definitely a staple for Spring.
Finally, as I mentioned above, I love pastels in Spring and it wouldn’t be Spring without a new pastel nail colour. This year I’ve gone for Barry M’s Huckleberry Gelly Nail Paint. I do love the gelly range from Barry M, the colour is fantastic and I think I have about five now. The new pastel colours they have released this year are gorgeous and I really hope I can get my hands on Sugar Apple but it’s always sold out in my local Boots! For £3.99 and pretty much always on offer, I can’t really go wrong.
What products and accessories are you loving this Spring?
