Bloggers Teaspoon Social in Aid of Lupus

On Saturday I attended my second blogger event in recent months and it was a good one! Hosted by the lovely Rachel of Happy Little Syllables & Becca of The Polka Dot Notebook in aid of Lupus, the Bloggers Teaspoon was a truly delightful afternoon tea party and I feel so happy to have attended and help raise money. It was held in one of my old haunts from my time spent living in Newcastle, The Salsa Cafe, my ex and I spent plenty of evenings in there before or after the cinema, so it was nice to return. We were treated to tea by Teapigs, cakes, nibbles, chatting and goodie bags and for a donation you could buy tickets for their raffle. Not only that, but Rachel put together a little goodie bag for Little Miss, who was to accompany me. It was adorable and included a tiara, colouring book and pencils, bubbles, stickers and a fairy want. I have tried to get a photo but Little Miss has stashed everything in her bedroom since she loves it to so much.

Anyway, here are some photos I have taken from the day. I wanted to take so many more but it was incredibly difficult with a toddler in tow. Please let it be known the place was beautifully decorated with bunting by Emma Bunting. And of course everyone was in high spirits. I even discovered a few new bloggers from the North East too, which is always a bonus!

The event raised just short of £200, which is bloody amazing. Lupus is such a cause close to my heart as I know Sunae, one of my favourite bloggers suffers with it, not only that but the reason it was the chosen charity is because Rachel also suffers with it. It was so great to see bloggers out in force to support a charity rather than to promote a new beauty product. Everyone who attended purchased a ticket for £5 and as mentioned above, there was the raffle with prizes donated by local companies. The goodie bag, which you can see most of the contents above was provided by the Metro Centre.
The food was gorgeous, the company was wonderful and I had so much fun, as you can see, Little Miss did too! And the best part, I think I found a new friend in the lovely Rachel! She really is my type of gal and I really hope to see her again soon. I look forward to going through the list of girls who attended and get adding them to my twitter and bloglovin later on this week.
