The Glitterati with Crown & Glory August 2014

I’m sure from my last few outfit posts, you’ve been able to establish the fact, I love a piece of Crown & Glory headwear. I first heard of Crown & Glory, oh years ago, back in the days of Livejournal when Sophie sold her beautiful hair gear on a little community known as ThriftstoreUK. I met a lot of bloggers on there, back when we were all happless teens! Anyway, I have followed her progress over the years and built up a lovely collection of bits. Sophie was even kind enough to donate a mystery box to #lincsblogmeet along with some discount codes (I’ve used mine to purchase a Whole Lotta Rosie hairband, it will be in an outfit post soon.) Anyway, before you all fall asleep, this post is about Crown & Glory’s new monthly subscription service called The Glitterati. As soon as I heard about it (and I’d been paid) I signed up. The boxes are shipped on the first of the month and you receive a fabulous selection if bits. So I will be sharing the contents of my box month by month and then hopefully you’ll notice some of the pieces crop up in outfit posts.

Like everything that ships from Crown & Glory HQ it was beautifully presented. The main box was all taped up with glittery tape and there was even an address sticker with “The Glitterati” on it. Inside the lilac tissue paper there was a lovely selection of things. It costs £20 including postage and you get an extra special surprise in your birthday month box. In my very first box I received:
Not a Lotta Rosie in Purple – £15
Huge Glitter Bow in Silver – £10
Whole Lotta Rosie Hairclip in Ice Cream – £8
Loverdose: Glitter Heart Clip – £5
Daffodil Bobbi Pin Trio – £5
Pink Floyd Bibbi Pins – £4
Total – £47
That works out as £27 more than what I paid. Not only that, being part of The Glitterati is like being in an exclusive club. There is a secret Facebook group where we have all got together and shared what we got. You can also swap if there is something you really don’t think you can pull which is what I’ve done with the Not a Lotta Rosie hairband because my face it too big to pull of the dainty roses. I’m getting a mint Lotta Rosie hairband instead.
Overall, I think The Glitterati is one of those boxes I will be subscribing to until I possibly can’t get anything new anymore! I think it’s brilliant value for money especially if you love fantastic hair pieces, like me!
What do you think of The Glitterati? Would you subscribe to a box like this?
