Magical Orlando Tag with Floridatix.com

As I’ve already mentioned 1001 times on the blog, LM & I are off to Florida in April. This is my 4th time, by 1st time as an adult and a mother so I’m looking forward to seeing it from a whole new world perspective! Our tickets are already purchased and I used Florida Tix as they had the best deals, I can’t recommend them enough.
ANYWAY, this post isn’t my Disney World countdown post (that’s later on this week so look out!). This post is the Magical Orlando Tag to celebrate the launch of Florida Tix new website. The competition is open to bloggers and it gives them a chance to win some amazing Florida related goodies including £100 in Disney Store vouchers (can you tell I really want some haha). It’s really easy to enter too, you just fill in the tag with your answers and the five favourites will win one of the fantastic prizes. All the details are over on the Florida Tix blog.
Because I’m a pain in the bottom and like to do my own spin on everything, I have answered for myself and for Little Miss. Anything Disney related she could answer for herself though, she’s definitely acing her Disney education much to my delight (please note, there isn’t such thing as a real Disney education, it’s just the one I’m personally giving her, and lets face it, i’m definitely qualified!)

1. Which Hogwarts house would you be sorted into?

This one I can answer together because both of us would be Ravenclaw. Both of us are book smart, LM is advanced for her age (early years specialists words, not mine). She is very logically minded and brilliant at problem solving. Although some of her words aren’t perfectly pronounced she has an excellent vocabulary and view of the world. While in school I was always the nerdy one who would never do anything to hurt my excellent grade average. Nowadays I don’t get much time to read books for myself (although I do read a lot to LM at the moment) instead I enjoy storing useless facts about pop culture & history thanks to hours of reading Wikipedia when I can’t sleep.

2. Name a Disney character you’d like to have dinner with.

I would have Peter Pan. We’d skip dinner and fly to Neverland where we could fight pirates, visit mermaid’s lagoon and I could tell the lost boys stories. I’d also like to go to pixie hollow and tell Tink that I do believe in fairies. As much as I adore the princesses, I have always had a soft spot for Peter Pan as it was the first movies I saw in the cinema (it was re-released) when I was about 4/5.

When I asked Little Miss which Disney character she’d like to invite for dinner she said Belle. I’m not sure there is much logic behind that apart from the fact we watched Beauty & the Beast The Enchanted Christmas this morning.. she swaps between which is her favourite princess weekly, and this week it must be Belle.

3. Which Marvel superhero power would you choose?

Um, Iron Man, duh! I mean he doesn’t really have super powers, it’s all the suit but he’s SO awesome. Have you seen the ending of Iron Man 3? The last line make the whole movie, it’s just too cool. Plus, Tony Stark is a genius, millionaire, playboy, philanthropist, maybe if I was a female Iron Man I’d finally be a hit with the guys?

LM would be Spider-Man. She’s never seen the movie or read the comics but since he’s my nephew’s favourite she always says she wants to be Spider-Man too.

4. If you could bring back one dinosaur breed from Jurassic Park, which would it be?

I’m going with LM’s logic on this answer. None. She says it’s because “Dinosaurs are scary” (she pronounces Dinosaurs like an Australian for some reason.) My answer would be, have you seen the trailer for Jurassic World? Bringing Dinosaurs to the real world is a bad idea! No matter if they’re herbivores, omnivores or carnivores! It’s a Dinosaur eat Man world out there!

5. You can ride a dragon at the Triwizard Tournament and visit the Owlery at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but where else would you go on a school trip to Hogsmeade?

Hogs Head! Got to have a butterbeer while out on a school trip. It would be like being a kid again and pretending to smoke with those candy sticks! Also, I would totally want to meet Aberforth, he seems like a cool dude.
Although LM isn’t old enough to get any pleasure from Harry Potter, I can answer this on behalf of her, Honeydukes. She’s two and she likes “shocklate” (chocolate if you didn’t realise) I’m pretty sure she would want to try some wizarding chocolate after how much she enjoyed her bar of Hershey’s last weekend!

6. A scene in any Disney, Harry Potter or Marvel movie you wish you could experience?

This one was really really hard, there are so many! I would love to fly over London to the second star on the right with Peter Pan, that’s such an insanely magical scene and makes me well up every time.. On the scene in Tangled with Rapunzel and Flynn in the boats surrounded by the lanterns, another scene that makes me cry but because it’s the ultimate Disney romance scene but as an intrepid traveller I’d have to choose “A Whole New World” from Aladdin. Aladdin is a wee bit dreamy, he has a flying carpet and they get to see some many wonderful things. It really would be a dream come true!

For Little Miss she says she wants to make the stairs like Elsa does in Let It Go. Every time we go up a staircase with handles she can reach on either side she sings Let It Go and runs up. Although Frozen is SO popular, it is the first movie LM has been part of the hype for, it’ll always be special to us in that way. The bit where she builds her ice palace is LM’s favourite bit.

7. Name one item from any Harry Potter, Disney or Marvel movie would you want for Christmas.
“Guys, I want a castle” – Flynn Rider. Preferably Prince Charming’s (Cinderella’s), Prince Eric’s or Rapunzel’s parents. Can you class a castle as an item? Well, I am.

LM, Sofia’s amulet. It’s actually what she wants for her birthday so I assume that’s what she would choose if she could have any Disney item!

8. Name one unforgettable experience/moment you’ve had at the Orlando Parks.

May 1997, I’m the one on the right.

One? My best memories come from the weeks I spent in Florida as a child, which is why it’s my main aim to take my daughter a few times. But if I really have to pick one memory it would be in Magic Kingdom seeing one of the Disney Parades (possibly Remember the Magic?) and my sister & I got selected to get up and dance with the cast members when the parade stopped in front of us. It was so special and a serious “magic moment” I feel so lucky that I got to partake in it! There is photographic evidence of it and I did intend on going to my mum’s house to get the photo but as I’m full of cold I haven’t been able to. I really hope my daughter gets selected for a magic moment while we’re there as it is something I’ll remember forever. That or maybe the first time I saw the castle, it was heart stopping and definitely a “I can’t believe I’m here” moment. I can’t wait to stand in front of it with my own little girl (crap, I’m getting emotional just writing this!)

It’s actually 122 days until WDW as this is an old photo, but she’s still just as excited!
