Outfit of the Day – I Can’t Go Back to Yesterday Because I Was a Different Person Then

The end is in sight! My Personal Style Disney Side posts are coming to an end, four weeks today I will arrive in my happy place and after the week we’ve had weather wise the idea of stepping off the plane into a wall of heat sounds like bliss. I swear I will not complain once about how hot and sweaty I am while out there.. NOT ONCE! However back in this country, especially this part of the country I’m still styling my beautiful summery Disney dresses for winter.

Today we have an Alice in Wonderland print dress. I’m ashamed to say it’s the cheap version of the beautiful Black Milk Clothing one from eBay. I do plan on purchasing the Alice one when I get back off holiday but I just couldn’t justify the cost at the moment. This one was £9.99 including shipping from China and you can tell. The material feel pretty nasty compared the the silky softness of genuine BMC (incase you missed it, I own the Aladdin skater dress). I doubt it’ll wash well or keep the print well. It doesn’t fit as nicely either, but for a holiday in the sun, it’ll do. I do love the colour and design, which is why I bought it, still if you have the cash I urge you to invest in the real version!

As the dress was from China it was marked as one size only. I’m always so wary about this as one size fits all in China is way different to one size fits all in the UK or the US however I found it was quite roomy and flattering due to the type of material it is. It feels exactly like a swimming costume though, which is probably good for a Florida holiday as it’ll dry fast should I have an urge to stand beside Splash Mountain to cool off, but probably not great for in this country. However, on the plus side it’s not the least bit see through (phew!) Practically all the Alice pictures on it are upside down though and the White Rabbit is very abstract. I have no idea if this is the case on the BMC one but I do find it a little bit weird.

Of course I won’t be dressing like this while on holiday. I won’t be taking the blazer with me, which for being 3/4 length sleeves is incredibly warm due to it’s lining and padding. And I certainly won’t be wearing full length leggings however no doubt with this dress in particular I will be wearing crop leggings due to the fact it’s pretty short (I have tested bending over to speak to LM sat on a chair about the height she will be in the pushchair and yes you can see my pants!). And as much as this clutch is very theme appropriate it is way too small to take to a park! I just liked the idea that it went along with the Alice in Wonderland theme, the only thing it has missing is “Eat Me” emblazoned across the front!

Over all, for £9, I can’t complain. The dress will do the job while I’m on holiday, but I doubt it’ll survive the first wardrobe clean out on my return. It’s probably my least favourite dress for my trip but I do love Alice in Wonderland and having worn it all day today it was rather comfy, once I got used to the way the material feels against my skin!
