Mothers Day Gift Guide 2015

ALL LINKS HAVE BEEN REMOVED AS ITEMS NO LONGER FOR SALE.

This is my first ever gift guide of this type, and I really hope it goes down well! In the UK on Sunday 15th March (a day after my birthday!) it’s Mothering Sunday. I have always loved spoiling my mother on Mother’s Day, but this year I’m also planning on gifting my Nanny as she lost my Grandpa back in January and deserves to be showered with gifts. I also buy to my mum from Little Miss. The real reason for this is she buys the gift for me from Little Miss (which is obviously usually the father’s job when the kid is as young as LM) so I always get my mum something extra as a thanks. I love Mother’s Day shopping even though these days my mum is a bit of a nightmare to buy for so I’ve gone for the unique and personalised gifts, and the generic chocolate, just to play it safe.

If you’re still struggling to buy for your mum (or your child’s mum) this year, here are a few ideas of what you can get that will arrive in time.

Mothers Day Roses in Ceramic Pot* £36.99, Floric. Flowers are the perfect gift for if you won’t be able to see your mother on Sunday. There are so many websites that offer mail order flowers but I particularly like the mother’s day selection on Floric. I received these beautiful roses the very next day and they came well packaged. They sit in a ceramic pot which is great if you’re unsure whether or not your mother has a vase. You can choose which day you want your delivery to arrive and the price includes free UK delivery. They smell amazing and come with some plant food to help ensure they’re long lasting for fresh flowers.

Lindt Chocolate* various prices, Lindt. along with flowers, the other easy option is of course chocolates for the mother who has everything. Lindt is probably the most decadent and indulgent chocolate out there and my mother loves it. A box barely lasts a weekend in her house, especially when she gets on the wine. Lindt has a fantastic selection on their website to work with all budgets. I’m completely addicted to the Strawberry & Cream Truffles, I really hope I get a box for my birthday!

The Book of Mum* £19.50, The Book of Everyone. Last week on the blog I reviewed a brilliant gift idea for mum’s by The Book of Everyone. To summarise as you can read the whole review a few posts back, The Book of Mum is a personalised book all about your mum filled with fun facts and parts you can customise with your own words of photos. I can’t wait to give my mum her copy on Sunday!

Fairytale Tea Bags Gift Set* £18, Adagio Teas. I discovered Adagio Teas through my best friend Bee. After seeing her set I decided they would make a beautiful Mother’s Day gift. This particular set contains three tins inspired by Sleeping Beauty, Snow White & Cinderella each with 15 pyramid teabags in. This really is a dreamy gift for any Disney mums out there (like myself or even my mum). The tea bags themselves are silky and seem so much high end than other flavoured teas. They’re actually formulated so children can enjoy them too, so they’re perfect for mother and daughter afternoon teas, I know that’s what I’ll be using them for!

Flamingo Candles Cheesecake Crunch Candle* £11, Flamingo Gifts. I have a confession to make, I have a small obsession with Flamingo Candles. I think the scents they come in are original and really fill the room when burning. Both my Nanny & my Mum are huge candle fans so I have actually bought a second one so they have one each. The Cheesecake Crunch one is absolutely delicious. I will be reviewing the service from Flamingo Gifts tomorrow so look out for that post. The candle itself is made in the UK and has the burning time of up to 50 hours!

Oak Engraved Frame* £11.99, Born Gifted. When Born Gifted got in touch with me the other week offering me something to include in a gift guide I was so impressed with the unique selection of gifts for Mother’s Day and especially at the price! This gorgeous personalised oak frame was only £11.99! With something engraved I’d expect to pay double that price! It arrived promptly and I can’t wait to pop a photo into it of Little Miss to give her next Sunday. I love the wooden style, it’s unique and will go lovely in the new kitchen my mum is currently planning. I cannot fault the service and how quickly this arrived. It’s great quality too.

Mothers Day Bath Products various prices, Lush. As a single mother I do try and treat myself on Mothers Day, at least until Little Miss is old enough to do it for me. I don’t get breakfast in bed, or even a lie in, so instead I always try to pick something up from the Lush Mother’s Day collection so I can at least have a long soak in the bath. This year I picked up four things to share with you, two bubble bars, one bath bomb & some shower gel as everyone has been raving about it. Bubble bars wise I picked up Bubblegrub RRP £2.95, a truly adorable design that unfortunately got a little battered in the post coming here! It smells good and is apparantly a Bubbleroon meaning it can be easily used in two halves which is great for the price. Next up I picked up Mother Superior RRP £3.75. A little bit more expensive but there is no denying it’s cute factor looking like a little squished up old lady! It smells very floral-y which I don’t mind at all. Looking forward to using this up tonight. I also ordered Secret Garden RRP £2.95 because it was the cheapest bathbomb. I have had it before and I love the colour it turns the bath water! If you’re a fan of Rose Jam you’ll love Secret Garden. Finally I had to order the Yummy Mummy shower gel RRP £4.75 simply because the colour looks amazing on the website! It does smell lovely and is shimmery for that “touch of glamour” the website boasts. I’m going to be taking this with me on holiday. Over all the Lush Mother’s Day range is very flowery smelling which is just perfect for the day it celebrates.

Hopefully this gift guide has helped anyone who is still struggling for ideas for what to get their mum, or maybe it’s just given you some ideas on what you’d like to buy yourself!

Oh my goodness, Amy, those fairytale tea bags are absolutely perfect! I’m going to treat my mum this weekend, but I have to admit I’m now tempted to treat myself too with those! I love flavoured tea anyway and these tins will look so cute in my kitchen.

The Book of Mum is such a lovely idea – ever since I read your review I’ve had this bookmarked for my mum’s birthday next month. It’s just such a thoughtful present which mums can keep and treasure for years.

I hope you (and your mum and your nanny!) have a lovely Mother’s Day on Sunday.
