About Maria Black Jewellery*

I have always been a sucker for pretty jewellery, especially anything that falls between quirky and classic, I think that’s why I have always been a lover of Disney Couture. Not only does it need to be that right kind of quirky and the right kind of classic, but I like it to be simple, nothing too in your face such as statement necklaces. Every so often I come across a range that fits this perfectly and I find myself lusting after so many pieces and my mum crying every time my birthday or Christmas rolls around and I list something from it as a gift idea. One such range is by the designer Maria Black. If you’ve never heard of Maria Black before, here is a little bit of background about the designer. Although she is a Danish-Irish designer, MBJ is based in London which again heightens the appeals for me just little bit bit more.

Undoubtedly my favourite thing about MBJ is the fact their is a great range of items in rose gold. This metal is currently on the rise in the fashion world and I can’t deny the fact I’m incredibly drawn to it due to the fact it is still rather unique. Here are some of my favourite pieces are from the rose gold collection.

I predictably love the Aladdin pieces, the name is eponymous with Disney but I love the lightning bolt shape as it’s classic (and pulls at my Harry Potter heart strings). As you can see, all three of my favourite pieces are incredibly simple designs. Each piece of metal is worked into a very distinct shape and that’s what makes MBJ look so simple but so stylish. They’re definitely contemporary pieces but what makes me lust for them is the fact they’re suitable for every day where without looking too over dressed. According to the designer’s website the thought process behind the designs is as follows;

The signature concept of MARIA BLACK JEWELLERY is the creation of interchangeable pieces that can be mixed and matched through collections, allowing a synergetic versatility in the individual expression”

I really love this logic, it means that you’ll always have a piece of jewellery that is so un-fussy that it will go with all of your wardrobe, thus making it a good investment. I have to admit I have very few pieces of any sort of accessories that would go with everything in my wardrobe like a piece of MBJ would and because of this, each piece is more than worth the price tag. Despite the reasonable cost, MBJ is adored by celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding and many more. You may have even noticed Maria Black Jewellery advertised in top fashion magazines such as Elle, InStyle and even Vogue, the name MBJ is that high end!
