Walt Disney World April 2015, Day 6 – Epcot

It’s been a few days since I shared the next day of my Florida holiday diary! As time went on I took more photos and other people took photos for me, so narrowing them down to enough that it will share the whole day but will also not kill everyone’s browsers is becoming harder and harder. Having an instagram account just to share LM’s adventures has become a godsend for gradually sharing all the photos.. I can’t believe in a month it almost has 1000 followers! Anyway, our 6 day was our day at Epcot. In hindsight we could have got more done but LM took a long nap in the afternoon because this happened to be one of our hottest days! At least we’ve left some things to do in September.

It was another early start on the Saturday as I was meeting Emily and her daughter D at the rope drop for Epcot. We did Spaceship Earth, Journey Into the Imagination and The Seas with Finding Nemo followed by Turtle Talk with Crush. Then we split up briefly as I had a fast pass for a character meet with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. It was as magical as ever and I managed to get a slow motion video of LM running to Minnie. We met up again with Emily and I grabbed a Starbucks before we made our way up into World Showcase. We walked onto the ride in Mexico before making our way to China to await Mulan. D and LM played together while we waited which was so lovely, they got on so well from the moment they met which is always wonderful to see. They were incredibly lucky and were able to walk with Mulan to her meeting spot, meaning they were able to look for koi in the pond with her. Mulan was great with two hyper toddlers and it was definitely an incredibly special meet. We said goodbye to Emily and D for a while after meeting Mulan as LM and I had reservations with Bee and her family at Akershus in Norway.

Akershus was another princess dining experience. On arrival we were greeted by Belle before being taken to our table. The princesses that visited us were Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White and Aurora. They were all lovely with the girls, but definitely the prize for the nicest person who came to our table was our waiter Patrick. He was probably the best member of waiting staff I encountered all holiday. The food was great too, although only the main was really to my taste. It was definitely much more laid back than Cinderella’s Royal Table, but eating in a castle and the food won the battle of the two for me. It was so nice to have a proper sit down meal with Bee, the girls, her partner Chris and her mum Penny though and I’m sure LM enjoyed the company. After dinner we went our separate ways again, planning on meeting up for a later fast pass.

We met Emily and D outside and walked to France as LM was now in her Briar Rose dress and felt desperate to show it off to Aurora. We waited for about 10 minutes but it was worth it as Aurora was wonderful. Chatting to LM and dancing with D. It actually ended up being one of my favourite meets. We then walked around and let the girls play again before Emily called it a day as D was getting tired. As was LM apparently because 10 minutes after Emily left, LM was fast asleep in her buggy so I simply walked around World Showcase trying a few of the offerings for the Flower and Garden Festival as well as taking photos. LM woke in time to meet Snow White, which again was wonderful and this time she got to dance with a princess (probably because she was too cranky for a chat). She wasn’t happy as we headed back to meet Bee so we popped into the UK to meet Winnie the Pooh and Tigger as someone took pity on me and told me there was no queue. It was definitely the funniest meet of the trip. LM ran straight to Tigger and he would not let go of her, Pooh kept holding out his arms but Tigger was pushing him away. In the end Pooh went to sulk on the bed. He did get a hug in the end though!

Bee was waiting on us at Innovations so when we met up I tried again to cheer up LM by playing The Great Piggy Bank Adventure but it ended up making her worse! It was exhausting so I decided instead of getting myself upset by it, I’d call it a day. I saw Illuminations every time I visited as a kid so at the time I wasn’t too upset, in hindsight though… We took the bus back to the hotel and had an early night. Two in a row definitely set us up for the late nights we had from then on!
