Disney x Vans

So it now goes without saying I love Disney so as soon as I heard they were releasing another collaboration with Vans I was psyched. Nothing had really caught my eye first time around so I was really hoping to that something would this time. Then I found out there would be Princess shoes this time, and not just princess.. Ariel. I waited patiently with growing dread that the ones I wanted most would be US exclusive and at first glance, I thought they were! They didn’t appear on the Schuh or the Vans website but thankfully Claire (of The Princess and the Frock) popped into the Vans store for me and found me the exact pair I was after, and thanks to Royal Mail being on the ball for once, they arrived today! And I had to share them with you.

This isn’t my first pair of Vans, but it’s my first pair in about 6 years. I have owned both the big chunky trainer kind when I went through my Avril Lavigne phase, and a couple of pairs of the black & white checkered ones from an earlier Off The Wall collection that these new Disney ones are now a part of. I find them ridiculously comfy and long lasting which is why I was happy to pay the £52 price tag. Although I’m not longer the trainer wearing skater girl I once was, I have been on the hunt for a pair of canvas style shoes for both traveling and park time, which is the added bonus to these being Disney. A lot of people were wearing canvas low tops in Walt Disney World and they seemed like a smart move.

I have given these a test run today by walking to and from town and I can report, not a blister in sight, which is impressive given that these are slightly big (they start at a 4 & I’m a 3) but I have some breathable insoles to pop in to ensure they don’t rub when my feet get a sweaty on holiday. They were incredibly comfortable and didn’t need to be broken in at all. I already know I’m going to get a lot of wear out of them, and I do hope the rumours of an Alice in Wonderland collaboration in the Autumn is true so I can justify another pair.

The Little Mermaid pair are currently ONLY available in the official Vans stores which can be found country wide. They’re not online or in Schuh at the moment. However there are plenty of other pairs from the Disney x Vans collection you can pick up at Vans online and Schuh is offering free next day delivery. Now, just to find the matching backpack…
