Walt Disney World April 2015, Day 9 – Ohana & Magic Kingdom

As you might have guessed, I’m desperately trying to get the last few days from our April trip on the blog before I head off on another one (and then DLP straight after that). I’m now up to our last full day at Walt Disney World where we opted just to spend the day at Magic Kingdom, that was after breakfast at the breathtaking Polynesian Resort. Here is what we got up to, again, it’s photo heavy!

We really slept in on our last day due to the fact we had 8am breakfast reservations and we’d been out until after midnight the night before but my whole approach to the trip was that we could sleep when we got home. Thankfully, the staff at Ohana were wonderful and simply gave us a buzzer to wait until our table was ready. We waited about 20 minutes for one to open up and once again we scored big with an amazing view across Seven Seas Lake to the Magic Kingdom. Ohana had been a last minute reservation (last minute as in it was made at like the 100 days mark rather than 180 days haha) on recommendation of Emily over at Mink Flamingos. We swapped it out with Chef Mickey and I’m so glad we did because it was my favourite character meal food wise. It was a great atmosphere too and LM loved seeing Lilo and Stich along with Mickey and Pluto. We’re going back again for Mellie’s birthday in a few weeks and I couldn’t be happier that this is where she wanted to go. I’m ready for Mickey waffles and those amazing sausages!

After breakfast we headed into Magic Kingdom to meet up with our friends Alex & Mimi. Alex had been meeting Alice and although we hadn’t queued LM arrived just in time for an impromptu hug before Alice headed away for a tea party. As it was too early to go meet Peter Pan, we headed back into the hub to take part in Move it Shake it. LM ran off and started to dance with King Louie all on her own, it was amazing to see how confident she was with the characters, even one like King Louie. Then it was time for Dream Along with Mickey. Alex kindly offered to hold LM so she could see, they both love Peter Pan so they did some crazy waving at him. Then finally we could head to the Neverland map to meet the boy himself. After meeting Peter, Alex and Mimi went off to find food and I took LM on the carousel. We were supposed to meet Bee for lunch with her family but LM was exhausted so she had a nap while I enjoyed some frozen pink lemonade. Alex and Mimi found us again and we strolled around while LM took her nap before finding a spot to wait for Festival of Fantasy. It so funny how even after only being there for 9 days I had a routine. LM woke just in time for FoF and it was just as wonderful as ever! Then it was back up Main Street for Dream Along again, then around to the map to see Peter. And the best part of all? After Peter’s meet finished he played hide and seek with LM. It was everything she’d ever dreamed about bless her.

We had a date with Rapunzel and Cinderella so I changed LM and we headed in for our first visit to Princess Fairytale Hall of the night. LM had lots of fun as usual. After we came out we met up with Mimi and Alex again and waited for LM’s play date to arrive… it was a pretty magical moment for Little Miss as I credit her confidence with characters 100% to this little girl. I know a lot of Disney bloggers follow her account, it’s ferdalump in case you don’t and Lane arrived about 7pm with her mum and dad, Jennifer and Chad. LM and Lane had a lot of fun playing together and I was happy to say they instantly hit it off. We ended up watching the first Main Street Electric Parade with them and the girls had a magical time playing in Princess Fairytale Hall with Cinderella and Rapunzel. Without even meaning to, LM was dressed as Rapunzel and Lane had her Cinderella dress on, which did make for some cute conversation because they wanted their matching princess instead of each seeing them. Then Chad took the girls on the Carousel and even found Cinderella’s special horse for LM to ride on. It was truly wonderful to see them and as I’ve said many times they deserve all the magic they get.

Once we’d parted ways we watched the Main Street Electric parade one more time since it had been rained off every time until our last night so we figured we might as well see it twice before heading out the park at closing. I was so emotional by this point and didn’t end up sleeping much, getting all the packing done before another 8am breakfast reservation on our last day.
