As the dark nights come in, I love to have a few candles burning in my lounge because it creates a really nice cosy atmosphere. However there is nothing worse than a candle the only lasts a night of burning, which is so often the case with cheaper ones. As I’m someone who can’t be shelling out £15+ weekly for a candle, I’m always looking for reasonably priced once that burn for a decent amount of time, enter the Amphora Aromatics 20 Hour Mini Candle* that retails for a well priced £5.50.

Amphora Aromatics is a brand known for their natural aromatherapy. Founded back in the 80s, the company originally focused on essential oils before branching out into skincare, fragrances and now home scents such as reed diffuses and of course, candles. They have a fair few different scents that can create the basis for a range of environments. The one I’m reviewing today is Rosemary & Thyme, which is reviving and stimulating.

When the candle arrived all I could think of was cooking chicken or potatoes but after opening the box and burning it for just 5 minutes I can see the two are completely different. This candle smells fragrant and reminds me slightly of balms associated with colds, but in a good way. It’s definitely comforting and perfect for the Autumn. The candle burns evenly which is something I always keep an eye on as I hate when the wax is wasted. I haven’t tried burning it for 20 hours yet, but after two nights there seems to be plenty left. I like the fact it comes in a very neutral shade so it will match any room in the house.

Essential oil candles are supposed to help balance well being, just like essential oils themselves. I personally find oils a little bit messy but in candle form, it’s perfect. These particular candles are also made from 100% plant wax from sustainable sources.

The 20 hour mini pot candle comes in loads of different scents, I would love to try grapefruit one as it’s one of my favourite smells and I bet the cinnamon one would be perfect for Christmas!

Have you ever tried an essential oil candle?
