So this year I’m kicking off my gift guides with the one I find the hardest, the one for guys. Although one of the reasons is because the only guys I have to buy for are my dad and my four year old nephew, the other is that I never know what to buy for guys.. not guy friends, not boyfriends. I’m just no good. However, there are some fab gift guides floating around the net so I thought I’d pop a few of my favourites into this here guide.
As with all my guides, my choices are based on people I know and what I would buy for them.
Starting with the most expensive items, maybe for a boyfriend or a father, we have Amazon TV which I was shocked to see only cost £35 and gave you access to loads of extra channels. It would be great for my dad in his truck. Also from Amazon, Game of Thrones Season 1-4 DVD Box Set for £40, give that man in your life the chance to catch up on one of the best TV shows ever. Or maybe you could go traditional and treat him to a bottle of Hugo Boss Aftershave, the smallest bottle comes in at £39 in Boots.
Now mid-range gift ideas, again, going traditional with the Ted Baker Clean Break Shaving Kit for £25 (and part of their 3 for 2 range). I love it’s vintage feel and how it’s presented. Any guys under 30 who would love this, please form a queue because I would consider dating you. With The Force Awakens being released right by Christmas, Star Wars merch is rife at the moment. If the man in your life is into it I think the Chewbacca Fleece Robe for £25 on IWOOT is fab gift, everyone likes sleepwear for Christmas. Under the £20, but in the same Star Wars vein, I love this Fair Isle Knit Style tee for £15 on Truffle Shuffle. If your recipient is a foodie, I cannot recommend The Hairy Bikers Meat Feast Recipe Book enough from Waterstones, they speak to my dad on a man to man level and he has all their books.
Finally, the lower budget end, again with the food theme, how about this awesome looking Burger Press from IWOOT, it’s only £10! I got my dad one for Father’s Day a couple of years ago and he loves it. It’s not as cool looking as this one though. A go to gift for the guys in my family is one of the following, a mug like this amazing Batman Bat Mug from Truffle Shuffle, or socks like this pack of Marvel Avengers Socks from Asda. Both useful items at a great price.
If you’re still at a loss and you’re so done with your man’s beard, you could look into Shave Club UK, a razor subscription service. I think their latest campaign video is hilarious!
