Where has this year gone? Seriously! I think this has to be the fastest year yet. I find myself asking every day “how on earth did we get to this point in the year?” It’s crazy that we’re over half way through November now. This year has been both the best and one of the worst but I will go into the good and bad points and the highs and lows in my end of year round up on the 31st December. Today however I’m sharing with you three perfect moments from this year. I’m not even going to apologise for the fact that they’re all from various Disney trips.
Dream Along with Mickey Meet
On our first day on our trip in September we were blessed with the chance to meet some of the cast of Dream Along with Mickey, the castle show at Magic Kingdom. It was a dream come true because unless it’s Christmas, it’s the only way you can meet Wendy, a favourite of both LM and I. LM was also wearing her Dream Along with Mickey Wendy inspired dress. I remember walking in and having a meltdown as Little Miss ran forward to hug Peter and Wendy. It was perfect. I was shaking and crying because it wasn’t just a dream come true for her but for me too. To see her embraced by all the princesses and their princes, for them to get down to her level. It really was the moment on our second trip that cemented this place as home for us. Where our hearts belonged.
Playing as Minnie and her Poodles
On our first trip back in April Little Miss and our friends Aaron and Lindsey pretended to be Minnie and her poodles while Minnie herself stepped out for a drink. I swear I was nearly sick with laughter. It was one of the funniest moments of the whole year. Minnie then came back and she nearly broke laughing so hard at them. After that Little Miss got to dance with her which was completely adorable. I love late night meets with characters when the park is quiet.
Meeting Woody in Disneyland Paris
The best moment of the year actually happened in Disneyland Paris. Little Miss broke Woody. That morning we’d been at the same spot to meet Buzz, and that was a really special moment too but after the meet the character attendant took me aside and asked me to bring Little Miss back at 2pm because Woody would love to see her dress. She was wearing a Woody dress by Closet Geek over her clothes which was rather rare in DLP. So we went back and queued, then when it was her turn Woody started crying and hugging her tightly, it was perfect and I ended up crying too. It was true Disney magic as Woody (along with Peter Pan, Hiro and Pinocchio) is one of her favourite “boys”. I’m glad I caught it on video which you can watch here.
It was so impossible to narrow it down to three.. LM’s first Peter Pan meet should be up there too but as I included the one where she met Peter and Wendy together, I didn’t want to include two Peter moments. Every moment with Peter was special. Or the time she got to walk with Alice and the White rabbit, that could have been in there as well. So many moments from 2015 will remain with me forever, and I’m so excited to experience more in 2016! I’d love to invest in a camera that shot better in all circumstances like the Lumix G7, check out the video to just see how stunning the images it captures are.
