One of the great things about winter is that you remember how much fun there is to be had indoors. This is particularly important when there are children involved! But we are now getting towards the end of winter. Before you know it, it will be time to trade in those huge coats for shorts and summery dresses! Now all you need is the inspiration for something to do with the kids. Look no further! When it comes time for summer, consider the following fantastic options.

Yoga
If you thought that yoga was just for adults – think again! There are plenty of opportunities out there for kids to get involved in yoga. And what a great way to spend those summer evenings. The benefits of yoga are numerous, particularly if you practise every day or at least once a week. And your children will feel these benefits too. Yoga helps to relax the body and calm the mind in the short-term. In the long-term, there are so many healthy by-products of a yoga routine that you’ll regret not taking it up sooner! If you find yourself stuck for exercise you can get the kids involved in, then this might be your answer.

Write a Summer Bucket List
This can be an excellent way to discover new fun activities to do. The reason is simple: your children might have thought of something that you hadn’t! It’s amazing what they can come up with if you just leave them to their own devices. So, consider this as a real handy option. At the beginning of summer, encourage everyone to write their own summer bucket list. Not only is this an enjoyable activity in itself, but you will soon find out your children’s secret wishes for the summer period. Using their lists as inspiration for the season is a sure way to keep everyone happy.

Go On Holiday
This, of course, is a classic choice for any summer period. However, it can be hard where to go or what to do while you’re abroad. If you often find yourself in this position, consider using the help of family activity holiday specialists. There is no better way to carve out your perfect family vacation. You don’t need to worry about money, either. You won’t be spending any more than you usually do on a holiday. This is the ideal choice for if you want to treat your kids to a summery surprise!

Picnic
Truly, there are few things in life better than a family picnic. If you’re anything like me, this might be one of those things that you never get around to doing. Why not make 2016 the year that you do? Having a picnic is a tried-and-tested way to fill any summer afternoon. And the great thing about it is that you can get the children involved every step of the way. Get them to help make the sandwiches; maybe even bake a cake. And then find somewhere that you have never been before, and get eating! This is a sure way to put a smile on everybody’s face – and without breaking the bank.
