Different Ways to Make Your Party Unique*

When it comes to anything in my life I have to always to try and go down the route of interesting and unusual. It doesn’t matter what it is, be it what outfits LM wears, or how I decorate my house, just anything really but today I’m talking about how to make a party you’re throwing unique in five different ways.

Give it a Costume Theme
People don’t bother with this these days and it makes me sad! Some of the best parties I’ve been to have had a costume theme, granted a lot of them were university parties and I was very drunk but it did make for some good photographs! I really want to have a costume party for my 30th in a couple of years, the theme being Disney of course but the way people are these days I’m not sure how I’d go about enforcing this rule. However, if everyone did make the effort imagine how amazing it could be? One fantastic theme would be a masquerade ball, it would also give the whole event an air of mystery.

Make the Theme Match the Setting
This is another thing I don’t feel that people really try with, and yes, I know a lot of things come down to money. But if you’re throwing a real party it’s so easy to connect the theme to where the party is set. If you’re doing it at the house, perhaps have a dinner party theme rather than one where everyone just sits around drinking? My best friend Bee throws murder mystery parties which are usually set around a table so the theme fits. If you’re having a garden party, think of how magical you could make it with fairy lights? Pinterest is a great place to get some theme inspiration.

Have an Interesting Food Choice
I used to work in a hotel that hosted a lot of weddings and one of my favourite things about setting up was getting to see what they went with for food choices, specifically dessert. I’ve seen an ice cream van, decorate your own cakes, pic’n mix stand and the most popular, the chocolate fountain. It’s so easy to use google to find your nearest place to hire from, like this chocolate fountain hire in Essex that supplies what you need for a wedding or any other parties in the Kent and London area. All you need now is marshmallows and fruit on sticks! I can assure you it’ll be a huge hit, especially with kids.

Be Creative with the Party Favours
Another thing I always noticed with working weddings is the party favours. There are so many ways you can be creative and I don’t just mean handmade, I mean imaginative. I can’t wait until LM is old enough to have a proper party and I get to put together the party favours. My friend in the US had a Peter Pan themed party for her daughter and all the kids got little bags of pixie dust and a handmade hair bow!

I always think the mark of a good party is when everything effortlessly ties together with a unique theme. As I mentioned above, Pinterest is your best friend when planning a party but I feel if you experiment with the tips I’ve given above, you can’t really go wrong!
