Looking Back on May 2016

If you’ve been someone who has followed my blog since the beginning you know that every May I fall apart. It serves as a reminder of the darkest time of my life, when I nearly imploded and eventually escaped my abusive relationship. I still remember the events leading up to the 27th May 2012, I still have nightmares about the night of the 26th. Usually I’m a bigger basket case than on a regular day.. normally I take double my meds just to get through each day. However I haven’t been medicated since November of last year, and for the first May in four years, I’ve happy. May 2016 has been special, I’ve made new memorable dates, I’ve made new happy memories. The day I’ll now always remember from May will be the 3rd. The day I started dating my boyfriend. Despite our the 5 hour drive and 200 odd miles, we’ve managed to see each other a lot including spending my best friend Bee’s birthday with her. Of course that’s what has dominated May for me. Finally starting a new chapter of my life, one where I’m happy.

Aside from obviously relationships stuff like meeting the parents and going out for dinner, he’s introduced me to Bojack Horseman, and convinced me to watch my first horror movie in years that I spent most of being completely terrified through (it was Insideous). I also completely binge watched Jessica Jones, which was amazing and I’ve finally made a start on Gilmore Girls (finally!) I started getting information about Little Miss’ school, which is quite terrifying and as I mentioned above we spent the day in Nottingham for Bee’s birthday. Over all it’s been a fantastic month.

Anyway, here is my blog post round up from May;

Starting with my favourites, Disney Parks blog posts, I shared Little Miss’ and my 5 Must Dos at Disneyland Paris as I’m off with Bee and her friend Nat for the day in a couple of weeks. I’m fairly sure our “must dos” will be different to the ones that LM and I do! As for Walt Disney World, I posted a room tour of the Port Orleans Riverside Resort Royal Rooms. It isn’t a review but it’s jam packed of photographs to show off how beautiful the attention to deatil is! Definitely the best room I’ve ever stayed in, well worth the money if you want to feel like a princess for the night. I also shared our 5 Things for Under 5s to do at Epcot. I always find Epcot a struggle for Little Miss at the age she’s at but I pulled together a post of her favourite things to do while we explored the park.

As for other Disney posts in May I also reviewed a beautiful necklace I received from Vintage Light Jewelry, an etsy store that specialises in polymer clay Mickey Mouse ears style necklaces, of course she sent me a pair of Peter Pan ones as well as a special gift for LM. You can read my whole review here. I also reviewed some Walter & Rosie Candle Co. Disney scented candles I received for my birthday. The Mickey Waffles one is amazing.

Cocktails in Teacups Disney Life Travel Parenting Blog Our Summer 2016 Bucket List Little Miss

This month I barely touched on anything parenting related. As I mentioned above we’ve been focusing on LM getting read for big school and there is a post in the works about this but it’s not quite ready yet. I did however share our Summer 2016 Bucket List which I’m rather excited about tackling if we can get a good period of warm weather. In the same vein I posted a Summer Wardrobe Must Haves for Little Miss, we really need the sun so I can justify investing in some pieces from it!

Cocktails in Teacups Disney Life Travel Parenting Blog 10 Reasons I'm Proud to be British tea

Finally, as far as general life posts go I shared my 10 Reasons I’m Proud to be British in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday this year.

It turns out I skipped a whole week at the beginning of the month, I picked up some freelance work and of course I felt like I was jacked up on sugar due to being swept away in my new relationship so I didn’t do as many posts as I usually do. Hopefully what I did put out was enjoyable! If you’re still looking for something to read, why not see what I blogged about in April?

Happy June everyone!
