Fairytale Collars Review

Cocktails in Teacups Disney Life Travel Parenting Blog Fairytale Collars Review

I am a complete sucker for independent stores that stock Disney inspired items, in fact this is where the majority of my spare cash goes. So much so that I have a post in the works about all my favourite online stores and some items I’ve bought from them. But today I’m reviewing the lovely Fairytale Collars who designed Little Miss and I a collar each for our trip to Disneyland Paris back in February.

Like most of these independent stores, I came across Fairytale Collars when their account gave me a follow on Instagram. Intrigued by the username I had a look and fell completely in love with the Disney inspired felt collars. If you know me perfectly you’ll know I’m a sucker for a Peter Pan style collar so I knew eventually I would be investing in one, and the opportunity was presented to me when I was thinking about what to take to Disneyland Paris. I contacted Emma, who owns Fairytale Collars through direct messages on Instagram and explained what I was after. Within the week she’d sent me the collar I’d requested, and an additional darling one for Little Miss, what a truly lovely surprise that was!

How beautiful are these? And such an original idea! Since I was going to Disneyland Paris, where the central castle belongs to Sleeping Beauty I decided to go for a Princess Aurora style collar. I’d seen one previously on the Fairytale Collars account but it was pink and I’ve always been team blue. Emma was so happy to make it for me and when it arrived I was completely in awe. The felt work on the crown and rose is really beautiful and the whole thing is really well made. The ribbon attached is the perfect length for a nice long bow that can be easily tucked under the collar so it doesn’t stick out.

Little Miss’ surprise collar was of course Peter Pan! It’s green with his hat on. I love the contrast of the feather with the collar, it makes it really stand out. It’s smaller than the adult sized one and fits her perfectly. Ordinarily Fairytale Collars doesn’t stock child sizes so I was overjoyed that Emma made the exception as Little Miss loves it! Her favourite thing has to be the little bells attached to the end of the ribbon, she says it reminds her of Tinkerbell and it’s such a cute addition.

Are you ready for some photos of me, it’s been a long time since I posted photos of myself on the blog as I’m going through a bit of an existential crisis with how I look at the moment. This is also the first post I’ve included photos of my no longer red hair. So be kind!
