Cake in the mail? I’m there. This morning I was awoken by the dreaded knock of the postman at 8am and normally that would put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day however not today as today I could have cake for breakfast thanks to Caketoppers!

Last week Caketoppers emailed me asking if I would like to review a couple of cupcakes with an edible printed image of my choosing on top, and as I can never say no to cake and desserts, I agreed and I’m so glad! I received a Logo Cupcake Sample* which is two cupcakes for £5 including post. A bargain really!

The two cupcakes arrived in a padded envelope inside two individual boxes in cellophane wrap both of them were still in perfect condition. The individual boxes were the perfect size for the cakes meaning they didn’t have room to get thrown around while arriving by mail. There was even a little bit of bubble wrap in each box as an extra precaution.

The cupcake toppers themselves were very well done. I always feel like anything made from a photo is never going to be that good but I was so surprised by how great these look. The image really kept all the details on both which was great to see especially since I chose two rather intricate photos, one from our last Walt Disney World trip, the other from our last Disneyland Paris trip. I think they the way they were resized and cropped to fit on the top of a cupcake was fantastic and I loved how well the colours transferred to the icing.

The cakes themselves were my favourite part as I’m not a huge royal icing person. Both cakes were so moist and full of flavour despite having spent some time in the mail system. They felt dense when I cut into them but on eating both they didn’t feel heavy or sickly which I was impressed with. In fact I’d go as far to say the vanilla one was one of the best tasting cakes I’ve had in a long time. I can’t imagine how amazing a vanilla cake with the chocolate frosting would taste!
