Looking Back on August 2016

Today is the last day of August and Little Miss and I are off on our final adventure before she starts primary school next week. I can’t wait to share it on the blog with you as it’s a big one. That is summer pretty much over now. August has felt both long and short. I went 20 days without seeing my boyfriend right down the middle of the month which was hard. I have als been struggling with the anxiety about Little Miss starting school. The weather however has been beautiful, lots of days in the garden, barbecues and days on the beach. We also fit in seeing Finding Dory at the cinema. Little Miss has also been swimming with my mum and sister. My other half did come stay with us for 9 days towards the end of the month which was absolutely amazing. Lots of evenings curled up on the couch binge watching TV series’ (we watched all BoJack Horseman season 3 and Stranger Things over two nights), movie watching and building a city together because we’re both geeks and were just happy with each other’s company. We went out on a proper date night Saturday and had dinner followed by drinks. Every time I see him her reminds me just how worth this long distance is. I watched a LOT of the Olympics, if you follow me on Twitter you probably saw my tweets every night and of course the Great British Bake Off is back on again.

So, Little Miss has all her uniform and next Wednesday she’ll be starting school. I’m not ready and I don’t expect to be very put together at all in September. I’m going to be focus on getting ready for our holiday, enjoying the Food & Beer festival this weekend, followed by a weekend to my best friend’s and then hopefully seeing my boyfriend again before the end of the month. I’ve been dreading this month for the last four years but hey, I might finally go out jogging haha!

Anyway, here is what I got up to on the blog in August, despite rarely posting near the end of the month it was still busy up to then!

As far as travel posts went back at the start of the month I shared my 5 Must Fastpass Rides at Walt Disney World for Under 5s which covers the must rides for littlies across all four parks. I shared some photos from my trip to the Peak District that I took at the end of the July with my other half, I always forget that there are some beautiful areas in this country I’ve yet to explore. I also shared my hacks for flying long haul with a small child. After 4 flights in the last year, I think I can safely call myself a pro. I also shared my Disney Parks bucket list. I went a little Disneyland Paris crazy this month, sharing two posts in a matter of days. The first was 6 things I love about Autumn in Disneyland Paris followed by my five favourite charater meet memories at Disneyland Paris. Finally I posted all about the things I’m looking forward to at Walt Disney World this October. I can’t believe it’s less than 5 weeks now.

For parenting, I was so blessed to be able to take part in the Talented Talkers colab with George at Asda, #IWoreWhatNow which gave us the fun task of comparing what I wore as a kid to what Little Miss wore as a kid. LM and I had so much fun recreating my outfits from the 90s! Little Miss also reviewed the new style Betty Spaghetty doll, this used to be one of my sister’s favourite toys back in the day.
