5 Holiday Ideas for Couples in the UK*

Well I never thought for a second I’d ever be writing a post from the point of view of someone who is part of a couple, but here I am! Today I’m sharing my ideas for couples holidays in the UK. Back in July my other half and I had our first weekend away together and it was amazing, not only that but it was in the UK! I honestly never knew there could be such beautiful places right on my doorstep! A romantic trip with your other half doesn’t need to cost the earth and here are my ideas for types of holidays to consider within the UK;

The City Break
There are so many beautiful cities in the UK such as Edinburgh, Cambridge, Oxford, Bath, York, Durham that would make a perfect back drop for a city break. All these cities usually have their own unique atmosphere and more than enough little bed & breakfasts for you to stay the night in. You really cannot beat a city break when it comes to any budget, there really is something for everyone.

Secluded in the Peak District
This was what we did for our weekend away. We spent 3 nights hidden away in the Peak District in an old converted stable house with a hot tub. We drank sparkly and watched the stars. There were some beautiful towns and villages around for us to head out and get a bite to eat but we weren’t really interested in people. The scenery was perfect and it was so quiet.

A Walking Weekend
If you’re a more sport and adventure loving couple why not head off on a walking weekend? Time to explore new places just the two of you. It’s the opposite to sitting around in a hot tub all day but you’ll still get to enjoy some beautiful scenary together and I bet it would make for some great photos and memories.

Culture in London Town
With London being the countries capital it really has everything if you’re a culture couple. You can go to the theatre, take a boat trip, visit a gallery or museum and lets not forget the million and one places to eat, drink and shop. It really has everything which makes it a great holiday for a couple as there is so much to see and do.

A Spot of Glamping
Camping isn’t what it used to be these days. You don’t need to sleep in a mouldy tent (although the snuggling to keep warm at night must be fun) why not look at glamping? The more glamorous side of camping. I love the look of this as I’m someone who really does not like camping and is still scarred from doing it in my teens. There are sites all over the UK and I think it would make fr a great holiday with your other half.

Sometimes you just need to get away from reality with your other half and not think about life or work to really connect with them, whether it’s a new relationship or old but I’m sure wherever you go you’ll make it your own, these are just some ideas.
