Looking Back on February 2017

February has been a strange month, looking back now I don’t really even remember most of it, that’s how little happened during it. Little Miss started Drama classes the first weekend of the month. Then there was obviously Valentines Day which I didn’t really celebrate and Little Miss had half term, which is all I can really remember of the month. During half term we had a few afternoons out, we went away to Newcastle for the day and we went to see the Lego Batman Movie. I’ve been really under the weather with something I just can’t put my finger on and this caused some serious anxiety issues. I hope once I get all the anxiety over it back into the box I’ll start feeling well again. Hopefully a busy March will keep me going.

My birthday is two weeks today and I’m apparently going out for lunch with my mum and sister. Then that weekend I’ll be heading off to my best friend Bee’s house so we can all go see Beauty and the Beast (something i’m excited and nervous about, I did not want Emma Watson in this role, but everything else looks great). The weekend after that is Mothers Day so we have Sunday lunch all booked and finally the last weekend on the month my friend and her husband from Florida will be over here. I feel bad Little Miss misses two Drama classes this month but hopefully it won’t be happening again for a while after that! She really adores it.

I’m so so proud of my blogging this month. I’ve posted every day and put together some great content that I’ve been trying so hard to share regularly. I’ve also been editing loads of photos in the extra spare time I have. It’s not as stressful as I thought it would be and it’s nice looking at all our Disney snaps together. I hope in March I can continue to be as organised with my blog/work balance as I have in February, that’s the one thing I’m taking away from the month.

Here is a look at the best of what I put out in February;

We didn’t really have a parenting post focus this month (although a few child lead posts have popped up in other categories) but Little Miss and I did start getting into the mood for World Book Day early this year with a review of Sophy Henn’s newest book Edie. Little Miss even dressed up as she definitely is an Edie type. The book is definitely a must read and the illustrations are gorgeous.

Next up, Disney posts. This month I started a new series on the blog called Little Miss Meets at Disney. This will put together all the characters we’ve met at Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World in alphabetical order. So far we’ve shared our meets with characters beginning with A, and with characters beginning with B and later on this week we’ll be sharing C. I’ve had some great feedback so far on Twitter and it’s a nice way to keep track of all the character interaction memories we have. At the start of the month I also shared our Disneyland Paris haul from our January trip. This really could have gone in travel or Disney but since it was an all Disney haul it fitted better here.

Travel had a much busier month in February with a mixture of posts about Disneyland Paris and things to do in the North East. I’m trying to do more travel posts anyway as it’s something I’m passionate about and Little Miss’ instagram account is all about our adventures together both here and at Disney. So posts about our January Disneyland Paris trip included a guide on how to get a Disneyland Paris Annual Passport and pay by Direct Debit. I loved writing this post and I really hope I can help some people afford them by paying monthly. In the same vein I also put together a post about doing Disneyland Paris on a Budget. This is part one of two and includes information on getting cheap flights, accommodation and tickets. Part 2 will be coming this month and will have tips on food, shopping and general tips. I also popped a couple of review posts from our January trip up; Hotel Santa Fe Rooms Review and Inventions Sunday Brunch Review.

As I mentioned above, not all my travel posts were Disney this month. I also shared Things to do in Newcastle with Kids in anticipation of the school half term break. Then I blogged about the Bones Exhibit at The Great North Museum as during the holidays my mum, nephew, Little Miss and I took a trip to see it. It was great fun but definitely aimed at older children than Little Miss.

Finally, Life related posts. Despite having a quiet month I had some great content including a food related post (hopefully there will be more to come when I attempt to overhaul my eating habits this month!). As I mentioned above I celebrated Galentines day by sending my best friend a gift and giving one to Little Miss. I also posted about some gift ideas from Debenhams as they were kind enough to send me a gift hamper. Speaking of gifts I shared my birthday wishlist, I doubt I’ll get anything off it but I can hope! I recently renewed my Netflix subscription and i’ve been doing some serious binge watching, I shared my top Netflix picks earlier in February. One of my goals for 2017 is to really get to grips with using my camera, I blogged about the progress I’ve made since early 2016 and what I want to improve on. I tried out a #NowCookIt recipe when Co-op provided me with some ingredients and I blogged about my experience making the Roasted Vegetable Cous Cous. It was delicious and super healthy!

I hope you all had a great February!
