Looking Back on April 2017

Once again I can hardly believe that’s another month over! I guess because Little Miss was off for two weeks and now my dad’s off the time just seems to be flying. Tomorrow is a bank holiday so LM is sitting in my bed eating left over Easter chocolate and watching her favourite, Hook. The perfect time for photo editing and blogging.

This month has been both wonderful and hard. We started the month off in London with one of our friends from Florida and her husband. Prior to her trip we’d only hung out once while she wasn’t at work and I’d never met her husband but they turned out to be two truly wonderful people. LM visited Kidzania and she got to open Harrods Disney Store! How lucky we are since the branch is closing soon. LM had another week at school where she got a certificate for attendance and we made Moana and Maui egg for a competition (which we didn’t win) and then she had two weeks off. We managed a sleepover and a trip to Newcastle before she came down with the dreaded chicken pox! Thankfully she had it very mild, in fact you could count the spots she had but none the less, she got them. That put our Easter plans in jeopardy. Then my dad ended up in hospital. We managed to celebrate Easter the best way we could and THANKFULLY by Tuesday LM was no longer contagious (doctor approved). We spent the last week of the holidays in Disneyland Paris and it was SO MAGICAL. Can’t wait to be back in 30 days.

My anxiety has been really bad since we got back. I’ve spent a lot of time shut down and crying. In two days it would have been my one year anniversary with my ex.. however he ended it four months ago. May is always a bad month for me but he made it more bearable, now I’m worrying how I’m going to cope with this horrible trigger filled month..

However, although I know it will be a struggle I do have the Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea to look forward to with Bee (although the fact I’m missing her birthday has pretty much destroyed me this week), along with the fact I get to see one of my favourite guys in London for a few days before a couple of days at Disneyland Paris (we’re hammering out Annual Passes HARD). I’m hoping the good memories I’m going to make will help me get through the dark days.

Despite having four days away AND a child with chicken pox before that I have managed some pretty good content on the blog, mainly Disney and travel but you all know by now those are my favourite subjects to cover!

First up Disney. Lets face it, it’s always going to be a main focus on the blog and April was no different. I continued with my Little Miss Meets at Disney series with the letters G and H. I’ve had a little break and I’ll be back with the next letter over the next few days.

My most covered content this month was travel. Everything from Disney to New York. Firstly I shared what I was looking forward to most in for our April Disneyland Paris trip. I also shared what I thought of a couple of the things we crossed off that list like the Auberge de Cendrillon 25th Menu and Mickey Presents “Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris”. I blogged about my Must Dos in New York City and 5 Tourist Spots Worth a Visit in NYC. I’ve been three times so have experienced all the touristy places as well as discovering some special spots that will always be top of my two visit lists when I go back. I reminiced about spending Easter 2016 in Walt Disney World, it felt strange not having a Disney Easter this year but I’m so glad we have great memories from last year.

For parenting, I continued my Days Out in England series with a couple of activities we did, firstly Kidzania in London and then the Quentin Blake Inside Stories exhibition in Newcastle. Both were excellent days out for Little Miss and I, I really love the time we spend together especially when we do fun things.

As we were so busy in April I had a few life updates such as what our Easter Plans were, we managed all but the Mad Hatters Tea Party due to LM having chicken pox. We were both devastated for missing it though. However I went back and blogged about what we DID do Easter weekend and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. As my mental health hasn’t been great this month I shared 5 Ways to Cope with Insomnia, from my personal experience anyway. I’m throwing this one into life blog posts although it’s technically food, sadly we had a bad experience at Ask Italian in Greys Quarter in Newcastle and I decided to blog about it. It’s definitely put me off Ask for the time being.

Finally, I explained Why Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Rekindled my Love for the Wizarding World. Back in March while I was at Bee’s house I finally watched the movie and loved it then I was gifted the script for Mothers Day. I love the movie for so many words and I outlined them in the post linked above.

I have loads of new content planned for May, tomorrow I have a new Little Miss Cosplays, I have my thoughts on Disney Stars on Parade & the Starlit Princess Waltz, our plans for our DLP May trip and hopefully I’ll be able to share what I thought of the Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea!

What do you have planned for next month?
