Blogmas Day 5 – A Trip to Meet Santa Claus

Cocktails in Teacups Blogmas Day 5 A Trip to Visit Santa Claus

A short post for Blogmas today but a rather special one. This is my first Christmas Life post and I’m excited to share. Today in the little village my parents live in there was a Christmas fayre where you could meet Santa Claus. Usually they have a great one on a Friday night where they have Santa in his sleigh with reindeer and he turns on the Christmas lights, but this year, for whatever reason, that was cancelled and instead the fayre happened on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t as busy (probably due to a lot of people working) but our family enjoyed it. There was cake, tea and coffee, raffles and the kids got to make salt dough decorations. It was so nice to support my mum’s local community. But the highlight of course was seeing Santa Claus. As it was so quiet he spent lot of time with the kids which really appealed to LM as she likes that attention. He was completely okay with her crazy cuddles and she made him a salt dough decoration for the tree. I admit when she ran in and saw him, shouting “Santa Claus” as she raced across the hall I felt myself get a little choked up. I plan on enjoying every second of this while the season is still magical for her, much like I do with Disney. It was a truly wonderful experience and it got me into the festive spirit ready for the big Christmas Market in town next Sunday.
