Things I’m Looking Forward to Doing in Disneyland Paris

A week today Little Miss and I will be on the way home after spending a few days in Disneyland Paris after the stress of this week I am so ready for it (plus Little Miss has serious Peter Pan withdrawls, I need something to tide her over until next month). A lot of bloggers are currently in Disneyland Paris, or are going over the weekend and seeing their photos has really got me excited, plus my best friend went over Christmas and recently blogged about that too.

As I’m not feeling very well today I thought I’d write about what I’m most looking forward to trying to cram in next week. We only have two days in the parks but that’s more than enough in the middle of winter (especially when I’m braving it without the pushchair, eek!)

Hitting Up Our Favourite Rides
And by ours, I mean Little Miss’ because lets face it, I rarely get to do anything I want! That means multiple (and painful for me) trips on It’s a Small World, the Mad Hatter’s Teacups, Dumbo and Buzz Light Years Laser Blast. She also really enjoys the Phantom Mannor, Snow White and Pinocchio rides, although she is a little afraid of them (she still likes to go on them though) and the Carousel. I’m also so pleased Le Pays des Contes de Fees and Casey Jr are open again, they were closed for refurbishment in October and we only discovered them on our last day in May 2014. I think Casey Jr will be a big hit this time as LM loves the Barnstormer in Walt Disney World. I’m sure we’ll also take a trip around Alice’s Curious Labyrinth, although it made me sad last time at how much work it needed done to it.

Over at the Studios I’m pretty sure we’ll only be going for the Ratatouille ride, Slinky Dog coaster and possibly the Flying Carpets. With us only having two days I know we won’t spend too much time over there, especially when I struggle to find food for Little Miss to eat in that park. We can’t not ride the Ratatouille ride though as it’s something we both adore in the DLP resort.

She’s going to be pretty sad that Peter Pan’s Flight is closed for refurbishment though…

Meeting Peter Pan and Wendy
Speaking of Peter Pan… the rumour is Peter is currently out with Wendy in the park every day at the moment, and I hope to goodness that this is true for LM. I feel like it’ll be just our luck that they’re not, but from the looks of the programme, they are going to be about. I just need to find them as it’s not as simple as it is in Walt Disney World, they don’t have a set spot and line. Which means I’ll probably have to drag LM away kicking and screaming if we do find them. But we’re packing her winter Wendy outfit and I have high hopes to make it happen for her this time. But we’ll see. At least she knows now they might not be there, and hopefully she’ll be okay with just a wave from him in the parade.

Take More Photographs
Did you know that being a mum means you seem to come back off holiday with only photos of your child? I mean it is lovely, until you want to blog about experiences! I’m going to try harder to keep my camera out and snap a lot more things like the outside of rides, the architecture, food we eat and so on so I have a bit more to play with blog wise when I come back especially now that Disney, especially Disney holidays is one of the things I blog about most. I don’t think we’ll be doing any restaurant dining in the parks, and possibly not even in the village so look out for reviews of the quick service and snacks options soon. As well as some posts about our favourite things to do!

Stay in Newport Bay
This goes hand in hand with the take more photos. I have only ever stayed at Cheyenne (which I think I have enough photos of to review so look out for that) but this is our first stay at Newport Bay and it’s only because of “magical” reasons that we’re even staying there as ordinarily it’s out of my price range. I’m hoping to take as many photos as possible so I’m able to review it on the blog when i’m back. But not only that, I’m looking forward to staying midrange (not that I don’t like Cheyenne, the beds are super comfortable!) and seeing what all comes with that. From the photos it looks beautiful although I do understand it’s currently undergoing renovations (like a lot of the resort with it being the 25th anniversary next year). It’ll be nice to explore somewhere different and if we do end up eating there, the restaurants specialise in sea food which is right up my street!

New Entertainment
Firstly, next week Merida will be having her own little procession down Main Street! If you saw Little Miss’ cosplay post last month, you’ll know she’s very popular in our house so I’m going to have one very happy little girl at seeing one of her heroes on horseback. I’m even considering packing her Merida dress now!

Secondly, starting on the 10th February and running until May there is The Forest of Enchantment show that will be in the Chapparal Theatre during the seasons that don’t run the Frozen Sing-Along. The Forest of Enchantment is a show that will be unique to Disneyland Paris but it sounds like it’ll have a similar format to Mickey and the Magic Map at Disneyland in Anaheim with characters from various movies and a musical style. The art work has been released showing the stars will be King Louie and Baloo from the Jungle Book, Rapunzel, Merida, Pocahontas and Tarzan. I’m so excited we’ll be around for the official first day (I know there are previews before then). I’m going to be that annoying person with the crazy zoom lens but I don’t even care.

I’m sure we’re going to have a fantastic short break. I told Little Miss this evening and she was so incredibly excited. I think she’s ready to be back in the Disney bubble as much as I am!
