What Are Your Favorite Household Gadgets And Gizmos?*

Most of us have become pretty dependent on technology to help us around the house. But we all have a favorite gizmo or gadget that we just couldn’t do without. They may be small, large, fast or slow. Perhaps they’re powered by a battery, solar panels, or plug into the mains. However they work, and no matter what they do, life is just so much easier having them around! Here are some of our favorite household gadgets and gizmos:

Universal Remote
How much easier is it to mute, change the channel, or just turn something off when you don’t need to hunt for the remote? When you’re reading electronics reviews, you’ll find the same happy comments again and again. It’s all about convenience. And it’s all about doing the job. A universal remote is the all-in-one device that can control anything in your home that has infrared connectivity. And when you think about how many gadgets we have that we point a controller at, it makes sense just to have one device that does it all.

Robot Vacuum
When your back is achy, and all you want to do is sit with your feet up, vacuuming couldn’t be further from your mind. And it needn’t be a bother to you anymore with a robot vacuum. They can do all that cleaning while you are at work. Or program it to tackle the crummies while you’re asleep. Either which way, you won’t need to lift a finger. Once it is programmed, it will take care of the vacuuming all on its own, and even return to dock for a charge when it’s done.

Dishwasher
Do you remember those days when you’d put the cutlery out, and there was still something icky lurking between the fork prongs? Or how about those pesky burnt-on bits in the casserole dish? Dried out hands and pruny skin are a thing of the past when you invest in a dishwasher. It can take care of everything you cooked with and ate from without your hands getting damp at all. And chances are it can leave all your crockery more hygienically clean too.

Battery Powered Lawnmower
If you keep a patch of the green stuff, you probably find the summer months are taken up with weekly mowing and wrestling with cable or starter cords. But it doesn’t need to be that way. Battery powered lawn mowers are still strong enough to tackle the average lawn without running out of charge. Best of all there are no cables to accidentally run over. And they’re small enough and maneuverable enough to navigate those awkward corners too.

Boiling Water Tap
Kettles are hard work. Even if you have an electric one, they seem to take forever to boil and then leave scum floating on the top of your cup of tea. A filtered boiling water tap as part of your kitchen sink fittings means hot water is literally on tap. No waiting, no messing, and no blocking up the countertop with excess gadgets. The boiler keeps the water at boiling temperature at all times. Just turn on the tap and enjoy that fabulous cup of instant coffee instantly.

Smartphone
OK, so this one isn’t restricted to just the house. Perhaps that’s what makes it so awesome! There are very few people who could bear to leave home without their phone. And many of us have it in use while we’re in the house too. It’s handy for browsing the web, catching up on social media, and even sending off invoices! The apps available encompass so many useful tasks that life has been made much easier thanks to these little devices. You can even turn on the TV with it!

LED Lighting
LED lighting has proven itself in the world of light bulbs time and again. Not only is the quality of light brighter and purer in appearance, but these little bulbs are so versatile. Now you can buy them to replace halogen ceiling spots and even your dimmable living room lights. They come in any color. You can even change the color or program them using your smartphone apps. Buy them individually, in cascading strings, or bendy rope lights for any application.

It seems the world can’t get enough of electrical items and appliances. And as they consume less energy and perform more efficiently, there seems to be scope for even more wonderful products. They make great gifts and can certainly help out around the house. Best of all, they save us so much time and energy! What your favorite household gadgets and gizmos?
