My 5 Favourite Character Meet Memories from Disneyland Paris

What’s that, another Disneyland Paris post? I found a list of topics I’d wrote about 6 months ago so I figured I’d revisit them before my blog ends up turbo Walt Disney World content when I return in October.

For us, a huge part of our trip is meeting characters. Little Miss is still at that age where it’s all so real and magical that meeting her heroes is a huge deal. Although as she gets older rides are becoming a bigger part of our day, she’s still more likely to queue for a length of time to meet someone over a ride. So today I thought I’d share my five favourite character meets ever at Disneyland Paris. After three trips we have met a decent amount of characters now (although nothing on Walt Disney World) but for me, five stick out more than the others. Although they’re in no particular order, the first and last two are probably the two closest to my heart.

Little Miss’ First Time Meeting Mickey
Back in 2014 my mum and I took Little Miss to Disneyland Paris for the first time. She’d only just turned two back in the January and we went in the May. I had no idea how she’d be with anything but she took everything in her stride, enjoyed every second (except Annette’s Diner haha) and when I came back I booked to take her to Walt Disney World. We only met a few character’s on that trip (Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Tigger and Ariel) and most of them were at Cafe Mickey.. however we queued to meet Mickey Mouse in his meet spot and it was magical. Little Miss being so small was held by my mum but her little face said everything and obviously I cried. It was magical as that first time meeting the Boss Mouse should be. That moment meant so much to me after being told by my ex that I would never take her to Disney, seeing her with Mickey and smiling, it was perfect. Nothing will ever take that away from me.

Chip & Dale
Back on our trip in October 2015 Little Miss had got herself so upset because we couldn’t find any characters (in particular Peter Pan, but we don’t talk about it) we walk outside after having lunch and Little Miss is dancing because she can hear Boo to You on and out pop Chip & Dale to dance with her. She was so so happy to see them and at how much they wanted to interact with her. She gave them kisses and hugs and enjoyed her moment.

After we saw them we saw Pluto, King Louie and Abu so she definitely cheered up!

Woody & Buzz
After Little Miss’ disaster the previous day with character hunting back in 2015 we headed over to Disney Studios and had two amazing meets, one with Woody and then with Buzz. I can’t chose between them because they were both magical in themselves. Little Miss had a Woody inspired dress on and Buzz loved it so much he tried to take her away with him. Everyone’s face when he walked off was a picture and I know LM was in her element. The character attendant told me to come back at a certain time so LM could meet Woody in her dress as well and it was so worth the wait. Woody had a complete meltdown when he saw her and kept hiding his face. LM was laughing and it was just truly magical. I love taking LM in her inspired dresses to DLP because it’s so much rarer than it is in WDW. The reaction was perfect and made LM’s whole trip.

There is even a video I popped on youTube of Woody’s reaction, you can watch it here.

Alice & the Mad Hatter
In February 2016 we had a short break in DLP with our friend from the States. We had a lot of fun meeting characters without even trying, including Alice and the Hatter. The Hatter called me a Weed (it’s rare I have interactions) and Alice insisted that next time LM dress as her rather than Wendy. The reason I love the interaction though was a) they were so in your face, not just waiting for Little Miss to run over to them. They came to us and then lead LM away and b) watching my friend’s interaction was hilarious, their poses were on point and it had Little Miss and I in stitches.

Peter Pan & Wendy
Of course this is going to be number 1. During out October 2015, Little Miss was heartbroken to learn Peter doesn’t make much of an appearance in the park. She was so sad especialy how he could never see her during the parade (until our last day when he blew her a kiss). So when we went in February this year it was our number 1 mission to find her favourite lost boy. And boy did we! She ran straight up to him and he scooped her up into his arms, it was perfect, just what we needed to really feel the magic of Disneyland Paris. Not only that, but he was meeting with Wendy Darling, Little Miss’ idol! She was in heavy and chatted to them for ages. They made a huge fuss of her too. So we went back the next day, Little Miss in full Wendy costume and they were so happy to see her, even calling her name as she ran up to them. It was everything I could have wanted for her. Visiting two parks within the same year often makes it hard with character integrity, she’s so used to being called by name in Magic Kingdom, from parade floats, from the stage and in meets that when Peter seemed to not notice her in DLP it broke her heart. I’m trying to preserve the magic for as long as possible and our meets in February really helped cement that!
