Spoiling Your Pet At Christmas*

Whenever anyone asks I always say I have a family of three, myself, Little Miss and my furbaby Elsa. Elsa is as much part of my family as anyone and since having a cat I don’t know how long I survived without her. Because of this she gets throughly spoilt at Christmas. Why shouldn’t my baby be surrounded by gifts on the big day?

Unlike with Little Miss who is able to pick what she’d like Santa, I try to buy Elsa more pratical gifts and of course treats that are going to last us over the next few months.

Of course it’s so easy to completely spoil your pet and over endulge your pet which can be dangerous, I know my mum’s cat is getting to the point of being over weight so goodness knows what she’ll be like after Christmas. The RSPCA has put together an infographic about keeping your pets safe over Christmas that even includes dietry tips. And remember, chocolate is incredibly poisonous to a lot of animals!

This was last Christmas, she doesn’t look very impressed does she? Last year she got a new food bowl, blanket and plenty of treats. Our favourites are the Whiskas stockings as they come with a mix of healthy treats that help improve her teeth, coat and general wellbeing and treat treats that work as a good reward!

I’ve gone with a new scratching post this year and a string and feather toy (that I’m sure she’ll destroy by the end of the day.) My parents and sister are those that spoil her with the treats but I’ll be making sure they last as long as possible.

Elsa is as much a member of our family as anyone and I love getting her involved at Christmas! Do you treat your pet at Christmas?
